Thanks Dave. It was my first trip to Europe. The whole trip took over 11 hours including and hour and a half layover in Paris. There is only some much reading sleeping and moving watching I could stand. lol. Most of the trip was under the cover of night. So when the Alps popped up I was ready.

I've been lucky to have been able to travel to Europe many times. I must really like Europe; because airline travel for me (6Feet 6") is a misery. It made me chuckle to think of you reaching over your wife to get to that tiny window and hoping that the results would be acceptable. They are! Please be sure to thank your wife for making the sacrifice so that we were all able to enjoy these photos.

They are not exciting as such but to live the experience thru your eyes makes em worth posting. I have seen the Alps and flown over them many times and fully understand how it blew your socks off. The Himalayas are even more stunning my friend so book your next flight in that direction. I took some shots of London from the window seat last time I flew home. They also were far from exciting but I liked em so I'm wiv ya on this one!
I love pictures of doors and do hope you included the hinges.

Fully understand that sentiment my friend. Europe is like America with a sensible population.

Being a rookie going to Europe I was like a little kid who wanted to save the view forever. The doors in Italy are usually massive and to me very impressive. Especially the ones on the churches.

These shots of the Alps were taken through the planes window as we crossed over them. St3V3M (Steve) inspired me to give it a try.
Just posting as a fun experience.

Hi, Frank,

Criticism-schmiticism...I love those images of the Alps.

A number of my best remembered favorite sights were from airplane windows...my first view of the Rockies...of Greenland (On a Great Circle route from England to NYC.) , a pod of whales off L'ans au meadows, Newfoundland, the dunes of the Empty Quarter/Rub' al Khali, and, yes, of the Tyrolean Alps.

The majestic visual proof of practical geological theory predictably really gets to me...strongly...emotionally.

Got more?
please post 'em!

Dave

How blessed you are to have seen what most only imagine and blessed are we that you shared them with us. Love the third! S-

Well Steve you are the one to thank. You posted some shots from one of your plane trips. I believe you said that you took them with your cellphone. So I gave it a run and hoped for the best. The third shot is also my favorite.

Well Mr Billy i had the inside track, it was my wife who had to put up with me reaching in front of her to get the shot. So no fighting was necessary. lol

I'm trying more and more to use the medium at hand whatever it may be to learn to be more creative and see the world for all its beauty! S-
