If you don't know, DPP is Digital Photo Professional. You will need the version compatible with the RAW files of you model camera.

You can batch process right out of Photoshop. Go to the "File" pull down menu. Select "Scripts". Then select "Image Processor". That will give you a menu that allows you to process all open images (or you can select a folder and process those RAW files) into JPEGs - and will actually let you select a resizing option (for instance 800 x 1200 px for Facebook) or any other size and quality you want. At the same time, it will also give you the option to save all of your open images as PSD files. It creates folders in the original RAW folder - interestingly enough labeled JPEG and PSD. And if you open more RAW files from that same location and process them using the "Scripts" option it will save those in the same JPEG and PSD folders. I usually open maybe 10 images at a time and always run the "Scripts" option when I'm finished with my PS processing. Hope this helps.

As long as you already have Photoshop, why not use "Image Processor." You can find it under 'File' and the 'Scripts.' I've been using it for years to batch process large numbers of Raw files to JPG for a compressed backup of old files.

I'm a Mac user and I convert RAW to jpg just using "Photos."

Well, you're getting lots of help from the under-the-hood tools in OS X / MacOS, but Photos will do it.

Affinity Photo is a powerful, inexpensive, cross-platform (Mac/Windows) option.

Graphic Converter is a perennial favorite on the Mac, too. I've used that shareware since 1993.

I have lots of raw files that I would like to share with someone that prefers jpg.s Not sure he even has a program that will open raw files.

Is there a quick way to batch process raw to jpg.? Now, I only know how to do them one at a time.

I would just download the free program "Instant JPEG from RAW", "http://michaeltapesdesign.com/instant-jpeg-from-raw.html", and then run the RAW files through it. You can batch process whole folders of RAW images if you want to. I just shoot RAW and if I need or want a JPEG right away I use the "Instant JPEG from RAW" program to get them. It works well for me.

I guess I need to invest in Lightroom. I use PS CS6. I have Canon DPP but never learned anything about it.

Since you already have PS CS6, get the licensed version of Lightroom 6... the two complement each other and work together well.

Buy one of the books about LR6, too... such as Scott Kelby's. That will help you get up to speed using it fully as quickly and easily as possible.

I think you'll soon wonder why you haven't been using LR all along! It saves a ton of time and helps organize your images, as well as doing initial edits very quickly and easily. Lots of "batch" capabilities, too... RAW conversion, renaming, etc.... Heck, you can even apply some corrections to batches of images all at one time. Beyond that, keywording and other organizing tools make it so much easier to maintain your image archive.

You can try before you buy, too... Lightroom can be downloaded for a free 30 day trial from the Adobe website.
