Hi everyone, looking to add a wide angle lens for my D5300 & need some help. My primary use will be for landscapes & architecture. Amateur here & not looking to spend a fortune so if anyone can guide me that would be extremely appreciated.

Thanks again

You will need 24mm or wider, something in the 10mm to 16mm range would be best.

Take a look at the new Tamron 10-24mm, exactly what you are looking for.

The Tokina 11-16mm f:2.8 is a very popular lens worth considering. I own this lens and I am extremely satisfied with it.

I have a Tokina 11-20mm f2.8 that will a good job for you. A lot of people have the 11-16 but believe me that extra 4mm does a lot especially on real estate photos indoors and out. I noticed that the pricing is down a little in Amazon to $480 new.

The Tokina 11-20mm f2.8 ranks well. Ranks better than Tamron 10-24 and is less expensive.
Results found at DXO Mark.

I use a 10-24mm DX zoom lens for landscape and real estate shots on a DX.

Presume that is the Nikon 10-24. It is excellent glass. It takes wonderful images. But it lacks VR. For landscapes you want to use f16 or higher and ISO 200 or less. That leads to needing a tripod for sharp images.

I now prefer my f2.8 Sigma 17-50. It is as sharp and has VR (OS). If I need panos I take multiple (handheld) overlapping shots and combine in Lightroom. I occasionally find use for the f2.8 indoors. It stays on my D5300 90% of the time. It cost a bit less than the Nikon 10-24.

Nikon 12-24 f4 or the Nikon 10-24 are both great lenses.

You might look at the Nikon 16-85 DX zoom

Since this lens becomes a 24-120 it may not be considered wide angle.

I use a Tamron 15-30 2.8 and enjoy the images.
Yesterday I shot the Golden Gate Bridge and WOW, the lens was awesome.
I use it on a D750. I don't know what your crop facto is, go to the store and put one on and try it.
