These are the people that should be on our nightly news! People changing lives...and reaching out to others rather than themselves.

Yes, I agree 100% only if we could help...

And how is he doing good?
Hopefully not just by pushing religion.

His goal is not to take anything, but to give everything into this very poor neighborhood. A very moving photo.

Well he has a Bible in his arms, I'd say that he is out spreading the good news of the Gospel. That God loves us, and that even though we have all sinned, He has offered a way for us to be forgiven through the life, death, and resurrection of His Son Jesus. So that we can live day to day knowing that we have been forgiven, that we can have a peace in our life that only God can offer. And that even though we live in a broken world because of our own sins (some parts more broken than others), that this life is just the beginning, a much better one awaits those who have put their trust and faith in Jesus.

If he is doing this, the work that God has entrusted us to do while on this earth, then I'd say he doing a LOT of good.

It's not a religion, it's a relationship....

I'm not going to go on like Deecee but, as Deecee pointed out, the man is carrying a Bible, so obviously he's Christian and in the Christian faith there are two primary rules or commandments. 1: Love the Father (God); this is why it is called faith. 2: This is the one that really counts; Love your neighbor and yourself. If people practiced the second one, there would be no poverty, no anguish or disparity, no hunger or greed or crime or war. Really not a bad thing, if you think about it.

Deecee:
I wonder what a Moslem, a Buddhist, or a Hindu follower would think of that. Much less, an atheist.
rmorrison: Faith is actually the belief that something is true or real, whether or not it can be substantiated by physical proof.
If #2 is followed, that certainly is great.
But, see Psalm 139:21 & 22: Do not I hate them, O LORD, that hate thee? and am not I grieved with those that rise up against thee? I have nothing but hatred for them; I count them my enemies.

Deecee you stated it perfectly, I am a retired pastor (38 years) and could not have said it better

I know what faith is; you pretty much made my point. As for your psalm quote, something taken out of context or literally without explanation or proper interpretation may appear to many to mean something other than what's intended.

Ah yes, the infamous back-pedal...
Isn't it amazing that you can get anything you want out of these "Holy Books"? Just quote what fits your belief and ignore what doesn't.
That's why I like science. No matter how often you do it, when you close down the aperture, the picture gets darker. When you slow down the shutter speed, the picture gets lighter.
When you hold a glass marble directly over your foot vertically, and let go, it will fall on your foot. No lack of clarity there.

Our guide in Capetown referred to the ghetto as "informal housing." This man has a real mission and the look of kindness and humility to accomplish his task.

As always, beautifully captured.
