Do you say that to Hindus, Moslems, and Buddhists as well?

What part of "Non-Believer" do you not understand? "I am the way, the truth, and the life...no one comes to the Father but by me."

(Will not debate you - you are a fool and will only change when Christ inhabits your heart. Again, find Him!)

I think this got out of hand, but I appreciate your concern for the young African man.

People of all faiths seem to pick and choose what rules to follow. Many people use religion more as a club than as a comforting shoulder.

Let's hope he is more interested in reaching out to others than reaching into their wallets

Isn't it amazing that you can get anything you want out of these "Holy Books"? Just quote what fits your belief and ignore what doesn't.
That's why I like science. No matter how often you do it, when you close down the aperture, the picture gets darker. When you slow down the shutter speed, the picture gets lighter.
When you hold a glass marble directly over your foot vertically, and let go, it will fall on your foot. No lack of clarity there.

Yes Djedi, as a Christian, I hear the same things from non-believers, no need for God, we have science. Any and all things we believe are all a matter of faith. But I disagree, we look at the world through the same microscope or telescope, look at the same evidence, and just come to a different conclusion.

When a non-believer looks at the universe, and sees that the science proves beyond any reasonable doubt that the universe had a beginning, they have no answer except to believe that the universe sprang out of nothing. Nothing plus nobody equals everything we see. A Christian says this is not possible, there has to be something before. We know that whoever or whatever caused the universe to come into being is spaceless (existing outside of space), timeless (before time), powerful, and immensely intelligent. Christians call this being God

A non-believer cannot point at any of the atrocities that are committed in this world and say that's immoral because if there is no God, nothing is really immoral, it's all just a matter of opinion. What you say is immoral someone else may it not. As Christians, we can point to what is immoral because the ultimate standard for morality IS God

A non-believer cannot explain the origin of life, how life can come from non-life. And they can't point back to evolution because they never answered the first question, how the universe came into existence. Christians believe that it was God who created all life.

A non-believer cannot even believe his or her own thoughts, if there is no God, then we are just molecules in motion, really smart apes that are just dancing to our DNA. Maybe it's in my DNA to believe in God and in someone else's it is not.

All of this is not a matter of faith, it is a matter of fact. But to believe that the universe came from nothing, that life just happened by accident, and to believe that I am just a really smart ape... that takes more faith and I just don't have enough faith to be an atheist
Much more could be said about this Djedi. If you are interested, I can be reached at deeceephoto@gmail.com

Rule number 1 is the whole basis of the faith thing. It probably can be applied to many faiths.
Rule number two is logical and more common sense, (which by the way, isn't) than religion. Just think about it, if people cared about other people, the love your neighbor thing, (your neighbor is everyone) would eliminate the two main root causes of most all things bad, hate and greed, plus Nikon people would get along with Canon people who would get along with Olympus people who would get along with Sony people who would get along with Pentax people, etc, etc, etc...

I always wonder why people such as yourself feel the need to even say anything. The post started out as somewhat of a tribute to a Christian trying to do his best to spread the word of God. But yo apparently can't let that go by as a heart warming and uplifting post. For some reason you must destroy whatever good feelings the post creates.

You ask about what would a Moslem, Hindu or Buddhist think about this. Who cares? If they are spreading the word of their God shouldn't they be right there beside this Christian man doing whatever they can to uplift the spirits of these poor people. Man does not live by bread alone and an uplifting of the human spirit means a great deal to those of us who believe in God.

You don't say you are an atheist so I won't but is it your goal in life to take something from us who do believe? We take nothing at all from you but people like you insist on taking our beliefs from us. Why?

Dennis

Perhaps this man was on his way to bible study or a home group. That is what is great to be an American and live in the U.S. It is our right to believe as we choose, show love or no love and follow our dream as long as it is lawful. It's all about freedom we have by living here. Personally I believe in God and how he created this beautiful awe inspiring world. I also have faith there is an eternal life with God.
