Does anyone know how to get your pictures seen by buyers? I started posting a bunch of mine on EyeEm.com (look up Mary H), which is good. I have followers, (mostly ameteur photographers like myself), from around the world. Are there any other sites like this one?

You need a good online presence to make your pictures visible, but you need publicity to lead people to your site. Design, build, and maintain a good web site for your photography. Post your best images in different categories. Then you have to direct people to your site.

I read a book by "the world's greatest salesman" - he sold cars. One of his keys to success was business cards. He had them printed by the thousands and handed them out freely. He would even leave a few lying around here and there. If people don't know you exist, they're not going to give you their money.

Join a good camera club where they judge photos taken by the members. This will give you an idea about the quality of your photos. Accept any and all criticism. If the club has members only judging, that is not good enough. Friends are not good judges of your work. Do not show photos that are of poor quality. The photos you posted here are not good quality.

We use FAA (Fine Art America), SmugMug and Facebook. The crux is to direct traffic to your site. Potential buyers have to be directed to it. They have no idea it exists without direction. We also have a Blog site that has garnered quite a few subscribers.

It's not about where you set up, it's about who knows where you are set up. I have been at Fine Art America since 2014, and I'm currently doing a little over $10,000 a month. I have done no advertising with Fine Art America, I have not registered with any search engines, I don't compete with the other million people at Fine Art America. Instead, I compete only with myself. Can I sell more today than I did yesterday? The answer is yes. It all comes down to marketing.

Here's more about how I got into successfully selling my Photographic Art, and some ideas for getting out there so people can see your pictures:

Wow... lot's of kudos for Fine Art America. I have a friend whose computer work I have done in a very successful art gallery in Central Oregon. She sold the gallery and now paints her own art in various media. She is doing very well. Very well indeed. Until she moved from Oregon about a year ago, I still catered to her computer needs and kept her system running reliably. She uses it now, to post images on her monitor to paint from in her studio/office at home. She built the house around the studio/office when she sold the art gallery.

Now this is not photography, although she uses a DSLR quite proficiently to travel and acquire images to paint.

I've never looked into her connection with FAA, but she has been using them for years to market her art work. Again, she does not sell photography, but she is making a very good income through her connection with Fine Art America. In working on her computer systems, I have had occasion to speak with FAA in her setup with them. VERY professional and helpful on the occasions I have spoken with them.

I just started using FOAP. It's primarily for phone camera users but you can also upload your main camera photos. I've got over 500 photos posted and although I get a lot of good ratings from other photographers, I've not sold a single picture yet. Sounds like your EyeEm.com is similar. Frustrating.

Whoops! I hit the wrong key!
How to gain exposure of your photo works:
1. Most communities will have come sort of art and/or photo club(s). These clubs will usually hold a couple public exhibits of their work per year. . .enter your photos !
2.

Thanks I miss that one. www.vistaprint.com great printers. You need a 1/2 tone of you best photo as a background and info on top of your card. I design my cards and then send to vista for print. Gloss is best it shows off your art better. You can also sell you art on ebay a lot of photographer do, if that is what you want. anGODbless
