Whenever my wife and I go somewhere together she prefers that we use her smartphone to take pictures even though the photos I take with any of my cameras are much much better. She says the she likes to be able to post them on Facebook right away. I do have the ability to pass the photos to her via wifi but it doesn't seem to matter. I love photography but my cameras are collecting dust. Does anyone have advice?
Read of a similar situation recently. Husband then began taking pictures of the wife using her iPhone camera. Then he posted them directly to F/B. Nipped that rebellion almost before it really got started. Don't be cruel, be candid. Show her exactly what she looks like. Be sure and wait til the optimum moment to get your shots perfectly timed. iPhoners have NO idea what they look like holding their "device" at arm's length waving it in the wind. Made for some interesting photographs. The article also mentioned the wife's refusal to discuss the situation. Husband did not want to speculate, male hero material.

My wife was concerned that my D810 and bag of glass was "too much" for the casual picture taking we sometimes do - so she went out and bought me an Olympus OM-D E-M1 and a walk-around Olympus 12-40mm ƒ/2.8 Zuiko PRO lens. She's happy, I'm happy. Cool, eh?

First--Get rid of the whip. Second- Take your own pictures. If those don't work. get a new wife.
A healthy, successful marriage requires a willingness to make compromises. Discarding a wife simply because of a disagreement about which camera to use is, to put it mildly, absurd.

Should have sorted this all out before saying "I Do"
I did with my first wife, marriage lasted 27 yrs (She was Bipolar") . Did the same with my second wife, almost 20 yrs, she passed away in 2015 both assisted me when photographing people, including nudes.
Never had a problem caused by my hobbies.
It is better to close the barn door before the horse gets out!!!!!!
First it's called, grow a set. Next, take your camera with you and use instead of her phone...
Why don't you get a camera that has wifi? Take photos with your DSLR and send them to her phone. Then let her post on FB.

If they are collecting dust then sell them and buy a smartphone. If you don't use something sell it. How hard is that.
Go with your girl friend, she will not mind your camera...lol
Get your own facebook page & post your stuff there. I resisted facebook for years, until I realized that was how our kids communicated. If my wife & I wanted to know what was going on with them and the grandkids we had to get on. We post a lot of stuff together. Our friends list has grown quite large. Smart phones just make it so darn easy to post or message pics - no wifi required. AND, the newer ones take some darn nice pictures.
