I forgot to mention, when I am not traveling, my go to lens is the Nikon 18 - 140. That does everything I want. I will buy a 50 mm 1.8 for portraits.

I gave my 18-270 to my son and replaced it with the 16-300. Besides the increase at both ends of the mm, there is no lens creep. It was a good decision.

Mike,

I have the Sigma 18-250MM f:3.5-6.3 DC Macro OS that I use on my Canon T6i that I got referbished from
Sigma, It's a great walk around lens; Very sharp, as is the macro. You will be very happy with this lens!

I used the Tamron 18-270 on my Nikon D 40. I shot in old churches, cars, planes and at the beach. It is a great lens. I shot an air show and it is a great tool. Now I traded up to Tamron 16-300mm on the Nikon D5100. Again I am getting great results. I got the 16-300mm for the coverage. It is on my camera and never comes off. I do want to get a wide angle lens but thats it in the future. May all your shots be happy ones.

Haven't had the Tamron 18-200 but I have had the Nikon of that range. It was so useful that when I went to Sony, that range was my choice for general use.

I have a Tamron 18-270. Great walkaround, not great for bird shots

I have the Nikon 18-200 VR lens. It seldom comes off my DSLR. I went through some lean years where I could not afford that lens and when it came time to buy it I also had the Nikon 18-300 VR on the table for purchase. Rented both lenses and chose the 18-200 for purchase. I have never looked back.
