47th St. Photo
You forgot whiskey, women and work!
That's good advise. Thanks RKL.
As has been noted, there is a difference between 47th Street Photo and 42nd Street. I've done business with 47th Street Photo on Ebay and I have not had any problems with them. They ship the product quickly and the only time I had a problem they were helpful in clearing it up. I recommend 47th Street Photo (but not 42nd Street). I've purchased gray market products from them and they were open and upfront about that.
47th Street photo has to be five blocks down the street from 42nd Street.
At any rate if you buy from reputable internet sellers, Adorama, B&H, KEH etc. your buying experience will be far less stressful than if you
decide to roll the dice and try some seller who is in reality not doing business from a brick and mortar store store, KEH being the exception they do not have a showroom, you can make an appointment to inspect a specific item if you are in the Atlanta, GA area, they are actually located or have a Smyrna, GA address.
KEH is in Atlanta? Didn"t know that, but thanks. Since my client/boss just passed away, I was thinking about heading south. How's the job market? I did furniture restoration and would like to get back to it. Ricko.
How things have changed. 47th street and Olden camera were probably my two favorite mail order outlets, although I did buy a Hasselblad 500CM kit ($781.00) from Frank's Hyland Park camera in Los Angeles in 1975. Olden was a very large store in NYC with knowledgeable staff and great customer service. Gosh that was over 40 years ago!

Franks in the Highland Park Section of L.A. went out of Business around the Turn of the Century, it was a Damn good Store at the Time! I wish they Stayed Open Today, The Metro Rail Gold Line Station (Highland Park) is right behind the Now Shuttered Store, I Would have Jumped on the Train to Visit them Every Chance I Get if the were still Open Today!

Does anyone have experience with 47th St. photo shop? I'm thinking about ordering an accessory ki tfor my Lumix fz70, but it seems like I read something negative about the on the HOG. Thanx in advance for any help. Ricko.
Do you mean 42nd street. 47st photo was the go to place in NY City for all the pros in the NY area and beyond. Although I am not a pro all my film gear came from 47st. Canon F-1 all my Fd lenses, darkroom gear etc. A lot of my accessories came from the Spiratone retail store in Flushing. Sadly both are gone.
