As a fellow Texan I'll miss you, but I understand desire to return home. I'm sure that as long as youre all together you'll be happy, even in that frigid northern suburb of the U.S. called Canada. Positive thoughs for you.

P.S.
Will your new ID be MWAC"A"?

I have disagreed with a lot of your policy and political post. However when it comes to personal affairs I am proud to see you may be able to make a move you want.

So I am positive and wish you the best of luck.

I lived in Canada (Ottawa) from 11-17 (grades 7-13). It took a little while to adjust, but I made wonderful friends, and I wouldn't trade the experience for anything! I have always been grateful for my Canadian education, and for the expansion of my worldview. Kids are resilient, and family is important. Good luck, and bon voyage.

Positive thoughts and prayers you way. Family first always. As for uprooting children - as previously stated - they bounce back. Plus in this day and age you can really stayed connected with the internet. Also as a former g i brat, adapting is easier for a child - kind of like a new adventure woot woot.

MWAC -

I've lived in California for many years but still consider my birthplace (Buffalo) home. As Auntie Em said, "there's no place like home." The worry about whether you're making the right decision is the worst of it. I know it'll be a smooth transition. Good luck and keep us posted on the trip, with photos, of course!

Here's a not so wild guess: I'll bet your family up there will be as thrilled to have you closer, as you will to be closer. Sounds like a win/win situation and we don't have to lose you and your priceless contributions here that so many are benefiting from. All the best to you and your family, MWAC!

What he said, MWAC!!!!!!

This will certainly be Texas' loss! But Sounds like you are packing already. Won't you miss the summer heat & violent storms?
My mother is in great need of me now and 3 hours away is too much! I am on the road more than I desire. I can't imagine being 1000 miles away. We are the sandwich generation.
Keep us posted. You can be the real traveling Hedgehog.
Best wishes,

Yes MWAC, if you and your husband don't mind, go. The kids will adjust. Then someday after parents are gone.....you'll have a wonderful feeling in your hearts because you took the time to be with your parents in their "golden years"! The kids will have more memories of their grandparents, etc. My opinion is...go!

If I had known that you live in Texas, I would have honked when I was there in March!
