Caroline Church & Cemetery, Setauket Long Island...
Took these on a photo outing with a dear friend last Sunday. Right in my own backyard and I had no idea of the history of this church.
Caroline Church and Cemetery is a historic church and cemetery and also a national historic district at the junction of Dyke and Bates Roads in Setauket, Suffolk County, New York. The church was built in 1729 and is a three-by-four-bay, heavy timber-framed, 42 by 30 foot building sheathed in wood shingles and covered by a gable roof. It features a 42-foot tower surmounted by a 25-foot spire. The complex also includes the parish house, built in 1905, and a barn built in 1893. The cemetery was established in 1734.[2]
It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1991.
Hope you enjoy and please try the downloads for more details!

Love these images! I so enjoy your walks and history lessons, Angela. You always tell a good story of the area both in your pictures and words.
Terrific set. First two and the last are are inspiring.
Mark
A splendid set with the second one being my runaway favorite.
Your set evokes a favorite theme for me, the cycle of life but not at all in a sad or negative way.

Ellie, thank you for your kind comments... but I feel like I live in a bubble at times and knew nothing of this history, it took a good friend to enlighten me and she suggested we go there!!
Glad you enjoyed, even though I do feel disrespectful taking pictures in a cemetery, but at least I let others know of the history!
Have a great day!!

Thanks Bruce, always appreciate your visits!! Now I'm glad I reworked that second shot and added a layer!!
I just told Ellie, I feel very disrespectful walking through a cemetery and taking pictures, but at least I let others know of the history of this beautiful, little church and who's buried on its grounds...

Thanks Jim! Always appreciate your visits and comments! Glad you enjoyed!
Angela, the side view of the church looks almost exactly like our Court house built in 1849! Great history and write up!
