Minolta 35-105 for casual pictures. Sony 70-400 for wildlife.
I am with you on the Nikon 24-70 2.8 for general use which is a lot of requests for small groups of people and general travel/landscape. Lets say it is the default lens. I carry the 85 for single portrait and closer looks. I will switch to the 70-200 if I know I will have room.
Just got a refurbished Nikon 18-140mm nice lens that I use most of the time otherwise 35mm 1.8 and for long range I have a manual focus 75-300mm that's pretty sharp.

You will love it! Enjoy the sharp focus and bokeh at 140MM making sure the background is far enough away from your subject. An amazing kit lens!!

The Tamron 24-70mm f2.8 is excellent and gets very good reviews. (I've got one)

Beyond a doubt mine is the Nikkor 24-70, f2.8.
What is yours?
Yes AB I agree. I've had it for a couple weeks. It was a birthday/xmas present from my wife. I have been trying it out and am impressed. I see you shoot with the 7100. I had one for 8 months until it got stolen along with my other gear. I liked it alot. So now I'm just shooting with a 3200 till March and then gonna get a 7200.
Formerly Nikkor 24-120 on D810.
Recently replaced by Sigma 24-105 ART
On Nikon 7200 18-200 forever, on Nikon D500 24-70.
Mine is the Canon EFS 17-55mm f/2.8 IS USM. It's a little on the heavy side, but I just love it. It is mounted on my Canon EOS 7D Mark II.

On what body?
Thinking of the same unless I change my mind at B&H tmrw. Was given an A6000 for Christmas.
My 35mm 1.4L -- However when something real interesting shows up & I need to take a closer look I then switch to a 135mm 2.0L & since this now takes place with a Canon 5DS -- All activities happen -- With a Gitzo tripod
