I've used Meridian Pro Imaging for two years -- their web address is meridianpro.com. I used to print all my photo books at home and then get them binded, but ink was too expensive.
I do mine a bit differently since hardcovers are so expensive. I create a blank page and design my own cover. I do the same thing for the other photo pages. That way you can design it any way you want with text and multiple pictures.
Get it binded with a clear plastic cover and a black back. I use the 8x10 format. An 8x10 photo costs only $1.49 a picture. That's at least $1 per page cheaper than anywhere else. I usually do 30 pages. Shipping and handling costs $6, so the total comes out to $50.
You have to download the Roes software, which is free and easy to use. You just import your pictures and drag them into a box. It usually takes about five days to get your order. They're printed on Kodak endura paper, which is a fairly thick paper and easy to turn. The pictures are also lab corrected for color unless you don't want that.
By comparison if you were to order an 8x10 hardcover from Meridian it would cost $120 for 15 sides with pictures on both sides. That's $70 more than if you ordered the same number of pages and got it binded. I would highly recommend Meridan because of the low cost and the flexabilty as well as the quality of the pictures.

I have used www.mypublisher.com for several books, and have been very satisfied with the quality. The paper quality has been very good, and the covers are well made. I have had the padded leather covers (awesome!) and the linen (very nice qualilty linen). If you sign up to receive their special offers online, occasionally there is a 50% off sale...so get the book ready for printing, then wait for the sale to have books printed.

Hello, was wondering if anyone has any experience with printing photos in book form from some of the people on line?

I would like to do a 8.5 x 11 landscape hard cover book for parents for a christmas present. I have been looking at VioVio and Blurb. Would like a place where I can lay the book out and send them a high res pdf. I looked at shutterfly and snapfish, but it looked like I could not get just a simple layout of white pages and photos, maybe I need to look at them more.

Any Suggestions or help would be great, also sending photos, rgb or cmyk? Any thoughts on what works best with these kind of places?

I've used Shutterfly and Smilebooks. I prefer Smileboos out of Germany, they have a much better quality book and paper. They have a great turnaround time, offer great specials and really secure packing. Check them out they are great. They also offer designer services for those that don't want to do the layout themselves.
