O.K. But if the poster puts this info in the post isn't that quicker for everyone and also free? You don't even have to download the pic.

That been discussed dozen tmes rarely happens
Windows you right click on the picture in the file. (Not needed to be open) Click on properties, then on detail. Date, Time, ISO, f stop, shutter speed and lens used will be there. PM me if I can help you. David
Is this before or after you download because when I right click on the picture I don't get any of that. I have an option to open in new window, copy to a new file, etc. but properties is not one of the options.
The very best "free" program for viewing EXIF as well as extended data like "Maker Notes" is a small windows only program called EXIFToolGiu which is based on EXIFTool by Phil Harvey. You can view and edit Meta data easily. The program is compact and not intrusive at all. It runs circles around the other free EXIF Viewers that I've used including PIE and others. Oh and did I mention its FREE.

Those are excellent tools, especially if you wish to edit/modify EXIF data. Needs a little bit of computer knowledge to get them both working but not too much. PhotoMe can also be useful.

I'm not interested in editing the EXIF info in someone else's image. I just sometimes want to know what their settings were for a particular image or maybe what lens they used. And sometimes when you ask, you don't get an answer, so I thought I could just find out for myself withut being intrusive. Thanks for the suggestions, everyone. I'll try out some of them.

Understood. My reason for editing is with my own files if I'm using a lens that the camera doesn't recognize. I can add the lens data in.
Good luck!
