Street photography has a long history. Those who enjoy doing it obviously think of it as fun. That idea that someone 'just does it' to annoy people rarely comes up. However we all take photo's in order to get a response so the act of photography should be no different. It is a misconception that people 'should do things in a similar manner'. If you want to photograph the emotion of anger then you are going to have to provoke it! you cannot passively sit and wait...That would be like waiting for penguins in a desert. If you think it is wrong then do not do it.(personal choice) There are lots of things I do not do,by choice, including photographing people! and Yes - some people think that is strange too!
The poster has obviously found his Forte (Mojo) or fun.

I think the consensus is that since this lens is still in it's novelty phase (i.e. Nikon making money), I am unlikely to find a serious deal unless I am willing to go gray or used. I am an "in for a penny, in for a pound" kind of person and will look to get the best new price on the lens. Perhaps I can at least find who will give me the most frequent flier miles!

SCOTUS (Supreme Court of The United States) disagrees with you. There are limits to what you can do with a photo. But basically unless someone is in a place where there is an expectation of privacy and as long as you are in a place you are allowed to be, anything and anyone is fair game.

The best thing to do after you take a picture and someone looks annoyed, instead of slinking away go introduce yourself. Most people are friendly once you explain you are just out having fun.

Juor...
I agree... I was in Berlin last Sept. and saw a bunch of pretty girls posing for a friends camera.
After I had taken a bunch of the pretty angles I took one more and she was approving.

First of all, you don't know how to even start to have fun.
It can't be with the cameras you own.
You have to use a Canon with a white lens. Then everyone knows you're a pro because they see those cameras and lenses at places like the Super Bowl and golf matches.
Next you head straight to where there are lots of parents with young kids and photograph the kids. THATS when it gets really FUN!!!
Everything else you're doing up to that is just fun practice but it's not really fun.
It will be even more fun if you wear a T shirt that says, " I like little boys" on the front and across the back, emblazoned in big letters says, N.A.M.B.L.A.
That will do it...., Good luck having fun!!!!

First of all, you don't know how to even start to ... (show quote)

That kind of fun can get you shot(Not by a camera). But I did laugh.

The subject and her husband were none the wiser, and I returned to the ship with all of my teeth intact.

Just curious, how are you aware that the subject was in the company of her husband? 😃😃😃

Different strokes for different folks. Hope you can run fast when you snap off a shot of a lovely lady as her mate quietly walks up behind you. Eh?

Rude, idiotic behavior like yours makes it much more difficult for others to take candid photos and gives all photographers a bad name and bad reputation. Try to grow up and behave like a mature adult.

Anyone behaving like a mature adult would eventually be banned from UHH

In other countries, especially South America, people generally don't mind being photographed. You smile, point at your camera, and they often pose. Even in front of a police barracade. That is fun.
