The D810 has 36 megapixels. I would bet that its successor will have 40+ megapixels, to be a part of the new megapixels competition, that is happening now. The more megapixels, the more we can charge on the price. $$$.

As a Sony guy, I say the D810 replacement will be a D810r or a D810ii. 😈😈😈

I have been waiting too. I dropped my 810 and had it fixed.. It still messes up now an again an I do a factory reset.. the D5 is heavy if you use a larger lens for sports it gets real heavy... so I'm going to wait for the d820 or whatever they call it ... I did see the other day a new D750 that is coming out soon an that's always a maybe . Supposedly it has a new low light sensor .

IMO the D810 is a fantastic camera. For me to replace it would require huge changes. I really like the D810 and would need real convincing to replace it with a Nikon upgrade.

Ain't that the truth!!

There is a website called Nikonrumors that usually has stuff like that.

And don't forget: one of the first images will be of an entire Bigfoot family taken in total darkness.

ET phone home....
