I hate Woodpeckers.
pg. 3 Not on your life! Sister complains all the time about the humidity and how awful the summers are. I have been trying to talk her into coming here with me. Both of us are native Prune Pickers, only she has turned Texan. :thumbdown:

Oh dear - - it does tend to warm up a bit during the summer in Tx - I imagine the humidity is a local effect from the lake - as San Antonio {and I hope New Braunfels} is {are} reasonably dry. You want heat AND Humidity - you move to Houston or Galveston {NOT !!} The modern convenience of Air Conditioners has solved that problem, however.
-
But - - I suppose if you're on a limited utilities budget, and are used to the Santa Ana's - - TX might not do.
Personally, I could not stomach moving back to California due to the current political situation there.
When I lived there in the 70's - no one thought a thing of me and my .45 going out to the box canyons and shootin' up a few beer cans - - - {yes - they were empty days in advance of the shoot - no beer was harmed in the making of this post}
My wife and I went to San Diego to visit my daughter and her family last October. We were only there a few days, but I really liked Coronado Beach. It was fairly deserted being October. Helicopters would fly by to go to the Naval Air Station there and sailors would run by on the beach. The sand was great, the breeze nice, and the temp. great. And as much as Californians talk about automotive pollution, they drive crazy fast.
p. 4 Merlin and Steve, I can't disagree with either of you.
CA. is being destroyed by its policies, several stupid laws, and too many people, illegal immigrant to support, etc. CA is broke. Fortunately I live at the northern end of the state. Close to all kinds of sports, including hunting and fishing. Yes Steve, auto polution is a big problem, plus crazy fast. I would not try to drive in Sacramento any more and Sac'to is not a huge city like S.F. or L.A. Our small towns are changing too. Too many people moving here too
I loved my visit to San Diego too. Just wouldn't want to live there.

JacLee....Once my wife retires I'd like to get a trailer. I did notice in Coronado that they have an RV park, despite being such an upscale City. I wouldn't mind parking there for about a week. I def. want to drive up the Pacific Coast Hwy., and I understand Northern California is pretty nice, too. I hope my plans work out. It should also work out for my photography.
I'll see if I can locate him. The villages was at a population of around 25,000 when I moved here in 2001. It is now 90,000 and growing. But if he has his name listed in the villages directory I should be able to contact him and direct him to your pictures.
d4stone--I had no idea your community was that large. Please don't go to a lot of trouble looking up Snavely. Its not that important.
p. 4: Steve, it would be nice to drive all the way up the coast and when you do you must see the Red Woods. Magnificent! It is said some of the trees were growing when Christ walked the earth. Sorry, I don't know which tree (s), but I feel as tho I am in a Cathedral.
I do remember being impressed by those even as a kid.
good shots. i see u had to be patient with em
pg. 3 demill, which page? Give us a clue to what you are referring too.
demill-- Yes, it does take a lot of patients. You have to sit sometimes for hours until the birds decide to do their thing. Thanks foe viewing.
