I hate Woodpeckers.

Woodpeckers are are trying to demolish my house. The screech they make sends shivers up my spine and when I try to doze in my blind they keep me awake. They chase other birds away and move so quickly that it is difficult to get a good shot. Who could possible like this bird? (but they are kinda fun).

Pop corn anyone

Here is my woodpecker. Tis' a bit blurry, but I had to hurry before it flew away. We were at a B-B-Q and so many people around that I knew not to wait. This Whitehead is rather rare around here.

Which do you like the best? Except for being so blurry :XD:

Before cropping. I sorta like the trees business.

These are great shots!! I especially like the ones of the female. At least yours pecks on wood-I have one that visits from time to time and for some reason, he will spend about 10 minutes at a time pecking on the eves metal. That sound will give you a headache! From inside, it sounds like a jack hammer.

The last shot was with a 60D and Sigma 150-500 @500. The rest were taken with a Rebel txi and a canon 300 f4 with a 1.4 TC. Thanks for viewing.

Molly I know the sound. I was in a deer stand a few years ago with a metal top at 5:30 A.m. and a WP proceeded to jack hammer his way into my life. I was half a sleep and just about came out of my skin.
