Her eye seen thru the bubble adds to the photo.
The bubble is way too much of a distraction, your first inclination was correct!

No matter how hard I try to get babies to pose, Moms always pick the ones that "capture personality" Not sure why I still go through all the hassle. Great job, I bet you make a sale, and probably some extra prints in the process. When it comes to babies, Moms don't seem to care about catch lights, distractions, they want to see their babies just as they are.
I think I've talked myself into giving up on poses and props all together.

I'm noticing the same thing. I'm not charging for any of my work yet. I'm not up to that caliber yet. I have a lot to learn. Thanks for your comment.
That's interesting. Makes it more make-believe.
Why would you want to mess up a good photo? Yours is not in focus at all. Before you try to improve on anyones' photo, besides asking first, you should know what you are doing. By the way, Dr Rae, I love your photo of this beautiful child!
I just saw this and am wondering...... did you show the mom? And.....????

Initially I rejected this image but I was looking back and thought maybe it could be salvaged. What do you think? Would you show this to the mom?[/quote]
This is such a good PORTRAIT in MHO because of the followinmg:
1. The hair, after I get done looking at the bubble and the child's face my eyes go to the hair and find comic relief.
2. The eyes, big, blue, full of wonder, great catch lights and in sharp focus.
3. The mouth, I'm waiting for the 'Ohhhh' that is just about there.
4 The hands that are reaching for the bubble just to touch it.
5. The bubble in front of the child but slightly out of focus leading your eyes to the child. the main subject which is in very sharp focus.
All together I think you have an equiste photo. Show it to the Mom and watch her fall in love with it, JUST AS IT IS.
Absolutely adorable! I loved taking photos of my daughter when she was a little girl. Now that she's 11, she doesn't want to smile. What camera and lens did you use?
