Why is everyone so skeptical?? I'm sure they are nice people.

Maybe I should ask if they are nice before I head over there.

I know a woman that lives in the Philippines that teaches english over a Skype connection. I can't remember which country here boss lives in, but he flys to the Philippines once a month to deliver their pay. Don't ask me why but he does. I believe she mostly teaches German nationals to speak english but a few others too. I think mostly children too. Her boss gives her money to pay salaries of several other people doing the same thing and she is also responsible for delivering their pay.

I just got an email from someone in Russia who will be moving to England. For some reason, they think I am a teacher of English as a Second Language (ESL). Also surprising, they want an American to teach his family - living in England - how to speak English. If I decide to move there, they will pay me $6,000 a month. Sounds pretty good. If they send me a first class plane ticket, I might be interested.

This would be idiotic and potentially dangerous. ANY contact can lead to trouble, including real world extortion, robbery, and other crimes. Best response? Block and delete.

And now you've corresponded and confirmed your email to Nigerian crooks and thugs. Keep it up; maybe you'll get to meet them at the pub for a pint.

Well, maybe I am thick but since they emailed me in the first place I guess they already knew my email. And since they received my reply I guess they knew I was on to them.
