Very nice work my friend, I like them a lot. Unlike some of the more judgemental and provincial "hoggers" here I greatly admire nude mature models displaying not only their feminine forms but also their fine attitude about life and art as they see and have lived it. I have many sets of ladies in their 60's who have modeled for me in various poses from demure to quite erotic, none of them being professional. The thing that always shines through for me is not what time and gravity has left them with but the comfort, confidence and zest for life their experiences has rewarded them with. I do love your mostly full face orientation poses, for me that style seems to engage the model with the viewer. The only difference with what you have shot and what I would have tried to capture is that I would have ask the lovely model to smile...too few of those in this world today.

Also thanks for posting in EXIF readable mode..lots of info there....

Great stuff.....!!!!!!!! Thanks.

Probably a lovely lady but keep her covered up please.
Your work is fine just bad choice of model and cut out the soft porn poses.

Billy, you are one outspoken and often outrageous guy, but I gotta hand it to you -- you calls 'em the way you sees 'em!!!

And I have to say, I see it your way... again. I expect this site to present "glamour portraits", not "passport photos"; and that is probably a polite way of expressing my thoughts.

While the last 5 shots in the studio might have some merit, the first 3 are just too plain a presentation. I really don't get what the photographer is trying to present in those images. The first 2 look like they might be suitable for a tattoo parlour catalogue, but then I would expect to see more of the tattoos (on her side or the back of her buttocks). Number 3 does nothing for me as there is no focal point of interest or attraction -- not even the boobs. And the chair and the backdrop/ceiling interface line in number 3 are big distractions.

As with any photograph there has to be a purpose and a message; snapshots of naked ladies in front of a wrinkled sheet don't cut it as artistic or even interesting. OP, you have done better.

I came back to check these shots out one more time... I couldn't stay away for a couple of reasons: The model's body is remarkably fit for a woman her age, and beautifully hair-free. She obviously has an "open" mindset to her body image, and I bet she'd be a lot of fun to hang around with. Her exhibitionism is truly off the charts. Glad you captured these... very interesting!

Thank you Lukan. She is remarkable to be sure, and does live an open lifestyle with her husband (something I do not do). I am planning on doing another shoot with her and her 'girlfriend' this winter. She lives in downstate Illinois so if you would like to work with her, PM me.

Beauty is always in the eye of the beholder. While I personally do not care for most ink work I have photographed several models that are inked. Age is another issue we as photographers have deal with. My models and clients have ranged in age from 8 to 80 as the old saying goes. Ink, boob jobs, sags, gravity and age are all things that are occurring in the world around us so deal with it. I used to stay away from plus models/clients; however, during a couple of group shoots the options were limited. I found, as I already knew, that these ladies young and not so young were still real people that deserved what I promised all models/clients. That is to photograph them in a way to make them look as good as possible and feel good about themselves. I have worked with professional models that have awesome external beauty but were like a rock otherwise. We as a photographic community should be focusing our comments more on the lighting, posing and technical aspects of an image rather that the actual quality of the model.

In the case of the above images some of us have overlooked the reason for this section, UHH in general, for us to share and learn from each other. It is easy to put others down in the abstract sense of a reply, it is another to simply accept that not everyone shares your opinion. There are times to just let a sleeping dog lie.

I concur with this statement by Richie. But, and there's always a but, most skin doesn't really look very pleasing as it ages and ink makes it worse. Women should think long and hard about this when they are thinking about inking themselves. Ink is pretty permanent although it can be removed, it costs 10x more to have removed that to have it applied.

Your technique is fine with good focus, lighting etc. With a model of this nature I would suggest a different theme so to speak. Maybe in a gritty downtown street with limited nudity. Not to cover her up but to create a mood while still bringing out her character. Sometimes less is more.

Although your point is very valid, I beg to differ especially because of this unique model! She is extraordinarily marked up, and for her age, seems pretty physically fit. Every inch of her body tells a "character" story; one that to me says, "I'm nobody's bitch unless I want to be." I think the shoes are the only articles of clothing that she should wear, helping to reinforce the strong, domino nature of this specimen.

Yes, the lady is in quite good shape for her age, but she is considerably past her prime for nude photography. If I were in the business of nude photography, I would not be paying this model to pose for me so that I could include the shots in my portfolio; she would definitely be paying me for my photo services.

The Tattooed Lady (Great Song)

We came to town to see that old tattooed lady.
She was a sight to see, tattooed from head to knee.
My uncle Ned was there. He came to gape and stare.
"I've never!" he declared, "Seen such a freak so fair."

And on her jaw was the Royal Flying Corp
and on her back was the Union Jack, now could you ask for more?
All up and down her spine was the Hyde Park Serpentine,
and all around her hips sailed a fleet of battleships.

And over her left kidney was a bird's eye view of Sidney
but what we liked best was upon her chest
My little home in Waikiki!

She is definitely and "Inspiration"

As Justice Potter Stewart said in 1964, when responding to how pornography is defined, "I know it when I see it".

And, I agree; this applies to photos 6 and 8, at least.

Disgusting, especially for a woman of her age. Looks very degrading. Sorry!
