In favor of Nikon Camera Control Pro 2 (exact name?), which I have bought and which I'm installing now: Nikon sw shows the scene before you shoot. Lr cannot. How huge is that??

I forgot to mention that Adobe Lightroom also has a tethered capture. However, it does not offer the capabilities or on-computer control of all aspects of the camera the way some of the others (Nikon Camera Control was the only one that I had to compare it against). Lightroom does work and imports the new image directly into Lightroom though.

I love my camera control pro 2.. HOWEVER (and this is important). When Nikon does the updates, verify that YOUR camera or cameras are still included. I have a D7100 (included) and D610 (included) and a D70s (was included until a couple of years ago then dropped out of the supported list as Nikon added new camera). My point is that if your camera is older but still included, you may not want to ad the update if it isn't included in the newer version. In my case, I kept the "un-updated" version on one laptop and updated the rest of my computers. It seems that one license works on multiple computers (I have mine on 3) but haven't tried to see if there is a limit. Lightroom/Photoshop has a 2 operational limit but you can log out of one of the 2 and log into a 3rd or 4th machine as long as you have a license available. I use my Lightroom/Photoshop on 2 of my desktops here in Florida plus install it on a friends desktop in Pennsylvania when I (or my wife) goes up for a visit. Then, when I leave, I uninstall it to free space on their computer.
