I set out this morning to take a photo of a fire truck next to a pond. I decided to squeeze under a barbed wire fence and into my neighbors cow pasture. It was early in the morning. The sun was just coming up and the and the fog had not yet burned off. The cows and work horses all ran away from me but this bull was not afraid of me.

I love this little $10 lens!

You may consider being a little afraid of that dude with an apparent attitude.
Nice shot.

Oh, I was! There was a very steep hill side behind me that I was willing to roll down had he become aggressive.

BTW, this was cropped from an image taken with a 70mm lens on an APS-C format camera, I was not in his space. LOL

Thanks Graymule, for the thumbs up.

The bull was de-horned at birth to prevent injury to anything that got in his way as an adult. A full grown bull gouging another bull, cow, calf, horse or person could get rather expensive. For an exception, the Texas longhorn usually gets a pass when it comes to "de-horning".

Thanks chety95. It makes you wonder if they circumcise Kosher steers. LOL

Good shot Dave, I suspect that guy isn't afraid of anyone or anything.

It's amazing how the flies clump together by the hundreds on his side. I have seen them do the same thing on horses hides.

The flies can clearly be seen on the download.

Hope you didn't spend too much time taking pictures of him, Dave! He seems like he doesn't like you intruding!

One quick grab shot and a hasty retreat. I spent more time processing the image than I did taking it.

Actually, I had the camera set up to take a burst of six quick exposures and then spit out it's version of an HDR JPG. I then worked with that image to pull out details in the shadows and make it look like it was NOT an HDR. There were two big fence posts sticking up out the bulls back that I cloned out. I think post processing is part of the fun.

Yes, king of his pasture.
No horns, no problemo! Run over, jump up and down with hard pointy hooves until whatever it was is no longer irritating.
