This same farmer also has "Percheron" horses. These are bigger and more muscular than Clydesdales. The first time one these giant horses started to move in my direction I had an urge to break into a run. Then I realized that I no chance of out running this horse. I stood my ground as it ran over to me. I reached up and petted his nose saying, "Nice friendly horse." I later learned from the farmer that the horse associates humans with food and just came over to see if I had and food to give him. I now carry apples and sugar cubes when I visit this farm. BTW, this farmer is my next door neighbor.
