I thought about that Carl D, but will keep a D5300 as backup and feel comfortable with all the menus and feel of Nikons. I was in the video production business 1978 to 2001 and Sony products were a staple. Loved them. Good possibility the CMOS imaging sensor in the Nikon is a Sony product. My very first digital camera was a Minolta A200. Soon after that purchase Sony bought them out and had manage to produced award winning digital cameras. Great company for sure.

The D750 is a fine camera but, given your landscape work, you might want to consider the D810. Rumors are flying that a D850 will be announced shortly (Photokina is very shortly), so you might want to wait for that or a price reduction on the D810. The Nikon 24-70 comes ONLY in an F2.8 version, with the newest @ $2,400 and the older one @ $1,800. Used/refurbished might also be a consideration. Best of luck.
Hi rmvdw,
I have the D750, D7000, D5300 & D300 and they all are great and served their purpose when I got them (and still do today). I'm currently using the 750 (field camera) & 5300 (my macro studio camera). The D750 is incredible and yes, I did send it in during the recent recall; it was returned in short order.
I have many lenses and have fallen in love with my current D750 lens - an older, non VR 28-200 3.5-5.6G. That lens will focus to 18" at 200mm; I can't say enough good about it. And, because it's older and non VR it was relatively inexpensive. It's an option you might consider. Take care & ...
