Hello All, I am a former video production company owner, initially trained in still photography, now retired and have returned to my roots. You can view my photography work at
www.photos4offices.com. I presently work with the Nikon D5300, started with the D80 and D7000. I am looking at the D750 with the 24 to 70mm f/4 "kit" lens. This Forum has alerted me to a couple of problems with that body and that's good to know but, I will still purchase it when funds permit. I look at the Forum almost everyday and will now start to comment when appropriate.

I have a D750 and have had no problems with it. I got a recall notice from Nikon that I might have a shutter problem, so I sent it in they replaced the shutter and serviced the camera. It was returned in short order just like new.
I don't believe they make a 24-70 kit lens the 24-70 you won't get in any kit.

Welcome to UHH.
Keep in mind that some people are natural born whiners. Some people have an axe to grind, real or imagined. Some people just talk to make noise. You will get some good advice, opinions, and suggestions and some not so good. As you spend more time here you will learn who is who. In any case it's a good idea to consult a number of sources.

When any company produces thousands of complex items a few issues will crop up. Unfortunately the Internet magnifies these since those that are happy seldom post and those that are not become trolls!

Look at the D810 too. The price difference isn't that much, and you get a more sophisciated metering system.
Welcome to the Hog. Buy Sony

You're right Photosmoke. I ment the 24-120mm f/4 that is discounted with the body purchase for a $2,500 total.
