OK - I'll be "that guy" - I buy my gear from ghetto gray market ebay places all the time....and I have never had any problems. Now - you will get a regular canon USA warranty from Adorama, B&H etc, AND you will NOT get that from the cheapy places on ebay. But if you're like me and you never fill that stuff out anyway, just save the couple hundred bucks. But if you're going to commit to gray market might as well get the best price, and 42nd isn't it - look on ebay, they have it now for $788.00. It's a $200 dollar gamble?? Up to you
ps- 70D?? ....go with 7DmII !!!!!

The worst bunch of bait and switch liars in the business. Sold me damaged goods and grey market as well without telling me. Ant it back and got my money back.

I'm going to second the Greentoe site. If you want good pricing and US warrantied product Greentoe is the place to go. I've been able to get as much as 50% off retail on some items from this site with no problems. Keep in mind that they do charge a restocking fee if you send anything back so be sure of what you are purchasing.

I do all my buying from B&H. They might be a little more but they have the best customer service and I have never had a problem with them. I have bought 2 cameras, 2 TV's and a receiver from them. I use a Canon 60D. Stay away from 42nd Street. If not B&H there are other good ones on the internet. Good luck.

B & H, Adorama, Profeel, KEH, and others will price match, if you have a legitimate advertised lower price by an authorized Canon dealer.

Has anyone used 42 ST photo before. I am going to step out and buy a canon 70D and want the best price I can get. I will probably just buy a body for now. I have some lenses for my T5i and plan on using them for now.

I know a guy that bought a Canon 7D from them. They sent him an open box camera body that had a dirty sensor. He sent it back but it took another 2 weeks of hassle. I've read about some people that ordered online from them, within 10 minutes, they get a call from a high pressure telesales person from 42nd street thanking them for the order and then pressuring them to buy batteries, upgrade to one with a kit lens, case, cards etc., and when they decline, 10 minutes later they get an email saying that the item they ordered is out of stock and is on backorder. I've heard this more than once.

Don't do it! Not 42nd Street photo! You will regret it.

Like other "Hoggers" here - recommend you stay away from 42 St. Camera - not reputable. Check out Greentoe.com - you place bid on what you want to buy and they hook you up with reputable dealer at 10-20% off retail. Bought D750 with 70-124mm lens recently for $150 less than best online price. Seller was authorized Nikon dealer, camera was US market with all Nikon warranties. Arrived when they said it would. You can check whether dealer is authorized by going to manufacturer's website before you purchase. Good luck!

Whatever you decide to do, stay away from there. B&H and Adorama can't really be beat! Greentoe is great as well. Or, perhaps buy it locally (in a camera store, not a Best Buy), if you can find a decent price, and then you have a source for information and other items. Best of luck.

Find the camera you want, find the lowest price on line then send a request to Greentoe with a price usually $50.00 or more
under other companies.
You may get a great deal and it will be a US camera not gray market. ( which just means its not going to have a guarantee)
oh and stay away VERY FAR AWAY from 42nd street photo.

Just say no to $#!††y companies. There used to be a 47th street photo that was great. 42nd st. plays on their old reputation. Bait and switch is their game. They sell lots of gray market gear, and play all sorts of heavy-handed games on the phone.

Stick with Cameta, B&H, Adorama, KEH, and other fine retailers mentioned here. To save money, consider refurbished gear, direct from mfr. web sites, as well as these dealers. Be extremely cautious with Craigslist and eBay and other online auction sites. You can find good deals there, but much depends on the reliability reputation of the seller.

Wow! 95% of the posters on this thread, including me, say to stay away from 42nd St. Photo. To me the bigger question is,"How do they stay in business?" All of us here won't but from them and we're only a small sampling of photographers compared to all the photographers there are out there that could buy from them.------Interesting------

I don't know what I am doing wrong but I can't find a refurb at Canon's website. Could anyone put a link in a message for me? Thanks for the replies...
