Jerry, OK, you have surpassed the 65,000 mark for the number of postings. I am predicting that no one else has this high number of postings. Are you the leader?? ~FiddleMaker

Actually the first Chevy V8 powered production cars were sold in 1917 in their model D cars. 1955 was the first year of their legendary "small block" V8 line.
Sorry, missed Kuzano's post
Yes, I did see Kuzano's post and I opened his link. We learn something new everyday, don't we?
Mrosenke: Great shot...I had a red and cream-colored two door hard top which has bee my favorite car ever...I'm 73 years old and had the car when I was in my early twenties. Remarkably, I wrecked my car at a stop light rignt outside the Indianapolis Motor Speedway in 1963 when a guy turned left in front of me when he had a red arrow. Ruined the cars frame...it looked like an A-Frame after the accident. That was the end of my Chevy.

Took this at the annual Graffiti Car show. This year we had over 1300 cars on the street for the cruise. Quite a sight to see.
Love those old Chevies, nice shot.

Nice body but I don't like the flat black paint. I like the 57's much better. For all you car buffs out there if you look real close that car is for sale if it hasn't already sold.
I like the flat black paint. Different.
My first car was a '55 Chevy Bellaire with no post. When the windows were all rolled down the car looked like a convertible. This V8 265 Chevy even had crome strips across the headliner.

My favorite Chevy year is 1957. No doubt about it. And yes, I did notice the For Sale sign. Fortunately, today's auto painting technology is far better than it was back in the '50s and so if bought this car, I would have it repainted.

Thanks for sharing. My brother is a 55 fan, he had a silver one like that. It would pull the front wheels off the ground. Nice picture.
It's not referred to as "flat" anymore, it's suede and is used in many colors.

I still don't like it and I never will. I remember back in the day and when you didn't have the money for an Earl Shibe paint job you'd just shoot your car with gray primmer. I guess I could forget the paint job if I lifted the hood and there was a 327/396/409/427 built to the hilt with 2x4's headers and a Hurst 4 speed!
