Took this at the annual Graffiti Car show. This year we had over 1300 cars on the street for the cruise. Quite a sight to see.
A real honey, both car and pic.
Beautiful car. 1955 was Chevy's first ever V-8 engine. A Classic Car. Thanks for sharing.

Commonly conceived as true, 1955 was the first OHV V8 engine for Chevrolet (GM) after a two year stint of their first OHV valve D touring car in 1917. I saw a D Touring and the first Chev V8 in an auto museum in South Dakota in the early fifties. Link:

Actually the first Chevy V8 powered production cars were sold in 1917 in their model D cars. 1955 was the first year of their legendary "small block" V8 line.
Sorry, missed Kuzano's post

Nice. Well, it's hard to go wrong really with that as a subject. Maybe the first of the v8's but I lean toward the camp believing about 55 as the last of "real" cars and downhill thereafter. For me. its a peak about 34 or 35 and downhill f rom there. BUT it's a better world fro all having different taste. Best wishes all car junkies.

I am 73 and the '55, '56, and especially the 1957 Chevys are still my favorites even today. I wish I still had my '56 black & White Chevy. ~FiddleMaker
