After the OP indicated that he'd put it in the wrong forum, I would think that would be sufficient.
Umh, actually Steve (and this is the 3rd time I typing this,) the OP denied putting it in the Introduce Yourself section. This has been confirmed by Mac and myself, the 2nd & 3rd, respectively, members to post on his Topic before it was moved to the Chit Chat section. But Chaman did make a massive tzimis out of it! Me? I just assumed the OP goofed. I admit it. I did the following action which is invariably not followed by every Hog member at the same time: I gave the OP the benefit of the doubt!
Again addressing Chaman, SteveR wrote:
... those of us who've been around for awhile have seen this all too often ... the individual on a some personal peeve that is of no real consequence ... and if somebody questioned how you said something ... don't get your Jordans twisted ... that's how the Hog works ... and if you cross the lines (which somebody perceived that you did) somebody's gonna smack you back within the lines.
My own personal observations and experience (the hard way,) are both in accordance with the above highlighted in red. Right or Wrong, that is how some of the membership think. Not everyone will give you the benefit of the doubt at all times here, period.

Nope. All this because some here just do not follow any rules and commit this "error" on a weekly basis. Also all this because when I decided to do something, some here started to nitpick and tried to denigrate me and my posts on the basis of grammar and spelling. Of course they do this because they lack any other argument.

I have my location in plain view and the intention is very clear. These type of people are used to open their mouths without any consequence and are just frustrated because I will not stand down. If you felt like a man doing what you know you did, now have enough gonads to accept your true intentions. Of course people who do this in the end LACK the "cojones" to back it up. I stand by my action of reporting it, if there is no consequence at least I know I did what I had to out of self respect. Resorting to these type of attacks truly stem from immaturity but worse than that stem from intolerance. Such an action should not be tolerated here, IMO.

Yes all that. I don't expect you to understand it though.

Obviously, chaman has never started to walk into the Women's room by mistake.

Just as obvious, the OP clicked on the wrong forum by mistake, intending to post in chit-chat. Haven't we all done it?

Chaman...being backed up over a prolonged period is a serious condition requiring medical treatment. Sometimes you've just gotta let it out.

Cute. Let me suggest you something. Go and read the thread again. The OP LIED, he knew he posted in the wrong forum yet he insisted he posted it in ChitÇhat. Its in first page. When he posted that the admin had yet to come and change it. He realized it but yet LIED. Thats an example of the specimens that roam here. Things like that repeat to often around here. Smack me within the lines? Please. You really think that? LOL! Yes, I know how some think the Hog works, and Ive seen just how frustrated these become when they get a taste of their own medicine. The stereotyping was clearly implied, accepted and move on, but dont expect I will keep my mouth shut about it. None of you impress or intimidate me in the least.

Vincef, you are entitled to your opinion, but I suggest you consider that you are likely employing the old "retrospectoscope" and that your attempt to excoriate Mac, whom I don't know, for stating a simple fact, is fraught with potential errors! HOW do you know that Mac didn't find the piece funny (as it's now apparent that this work was probably not written by John Cleese)? Per se, Mac was actually performing a service to both the OP and the membership at large by informing the OP.

What? That's too self-righteous to do? Who does Mac think he is? A cybercop? I might have done the same as Mac and/or I might have just clicked on the "Report Issue" soft key and then checked the box for Wrong Forum section, needs to be moved. Does that make me a cybercop? If so, why is the Report Issue present? For show? Or to be used when appropriate?

As to my current opinion of chaman; he probably has a hair up his proverbial anal canal. Why he had to excoriate the OP is beyond me. Perhaps he lost his lover. All he had to do was use the "Report Issue" soft key and at his option, post a sterile, factual comment like Mac did.

YOU, Vincef, are a classic example of "you people," who never give any member the benefit of the doubt ... I suggest that you read & digest my post at the top of page 7 of this Topic.

Mellow out. :D 8-)

I thought it was knee slapping pee in the pants funny. The only thing funnier are the reactions to it and everyone using big words to show they are smarter and therefore know what is right or wrong with someone else's opinion, word choices, and grammar. I think it's time to disengage and return to photography which you are all very good at.

[quote=chaman]My primary language is spanish. Trying to nit pick everything I say comes a bit as racist? That the intention? Hope I am getting that wrong though because such an intelligent and distinguished group of people would never try to go there, right? Funny thing is I bet my english is much better than your spanish.

You misunderstand my motives. In a forum such as this it's reasonable to assume that people are intelligent and enjoy learning, and would therefore appreciate correction when there's an obvious mistake. If I were learning Spanish, I would certainly appreciate correction from a native speaker.

The fact that you would take a very cheap and hurtful shot about racism says more about you than it does about me.

Agreed... And yet there's a developing surreality in this thread that echoes the most biting of John Cleese/Basil Fawlty satire.

As Manuel might have said:
"Ohhhhh... ¿qué? ... ¡No! ... ¡No!... ¡Pero mi Mi cebola Española es grande¡ "

Husband and wife comedy writers and perormers John Cleese and Connie Booth displayed near anthropological genius in their brillant 'Fawlty Towers' series. Andrew Sachs was the superbly played Manuel, a Spanish innocent abroad whose misadventures were amplified by the self-conscious faux racism of the pretentiously bumbling Basil Fawlty.

And we loved them all.

As we embrace rational Spaniards who don't cling to the viciously arrogant colonial facsim of Cortes and Franco.

The Spanish region is richly rewarding. And not all 'Spanish onions' are
difficult to swallow.

BTW Cleese, Booth and Sachs are keen photographers. As were the
late Spike Milligan and his muralist brother Pat.

I'd somehow like to think that the Milligans and the Cleeses would be
delighted with this thread and its implosively unconcious comedy.

And does it really matter if JC was the original author, or not..?

Surely pedantry and xenophobia have no place in intelligent satire.

A keen observation from one of the masters

"Comedians "used to be able to be sillier than the world", reflects John Cleese, but in the case of Donald Trump, "you can't get more ridiculous" than the Republican front-runner."
