I have the Panasonic LX100, it is simply a fantastic compact camera (not the perfect pocket camera because of it's size, but close). Also, comes with a flash that is detachable, but you rarely need flash as it is stellar in low light.. IQ is top shelf. I take it everywhere with me, leaving my bigger Canon gear behind unless I specifically need it.. I preferred it to my Sony RX100ii because of IQ. It is also very cool to shoot 4k video and then extract a 8mp still of any frame of the video, this is very cool and I'm just now really getting a feel for how great a feature this is. Good luck, most of us have been in your shoes.

I recommend the Sony HX90V. Meets all your requirements (plus tilt screen) except low price. $400 new, $300+ used. KEH has one for $339 like new now. I can also recommend (from personal ownership) Olympus XZ-10 and Nikon P310 or P330. Others to look into: Sony WX350 (very shirt pocketable) and Panasonic LF1.

It appears as if many of the people on UHH are taking their shirts to "omar the tent maker" and having ultra large pockets sewn on them.

Were there really any standard, off the rack, pocket size camera's listed....OK a few, but HSX50... WOW!!!

Oh yeah, the Ricoh GRIII... Ricoh the choice of Daido Moriyama... catch him on YouTube. Published and viewed in many Art Museums world wide. Works with a Ricoh P&S digital and famous for his work.

He tried a Nikon P&S... dumped that and back to Ricoh.

Ima second the Ricoh.

"... I need a pocket camera... to be with me all the time"

I think that the Fujifilm XP70 or80 would work. I have a XP60, which is no longer made, and I have carried it in a shirt pocket and also pants/shorts pocket. It's waterproof and dustproof and somewhat drop proof. It has a 5x zoom. You have a pretty long list and I don't know of a camera that will cover all those things but this is my "just want to have a camera with me" camera.

I have checked the previous posts but, maybe you will be able to narrow down my search. ( I have a Nikon 7100...but) I need a pocket camera... to be with me all the time

looking for the point & shoot which:
1. fits into my shirt pocket- does not have to be ultra slim
2. has the sharpest pictures !!! w good color !!! and high pixel count / chip size to allow some enlargement
3. no need for water tight but sturdy
4. view finder would be nice but not a must
5. no need for extra long zoom, nor extra wide
6. has a flash, but average
7. no need to extra perform in low light
8. low cost (of course), but not the limitation
9. not need for movie and sound

* I have eliminated Olympus Tough & GoPro <- not good picture quality & no bridge cameras (still too big)

Thank you for your help Miro

iPhone fits the bill very well. I wouldn't have said that 2 years ago but the latest ones produce decent quality images (even auto panos) and you can get adapter lenses for more width or reach. The light is bit weak. You get video was well. I still have a hard time thinking of it as a camera though!

Doing the same research for much the same requirements. This one's currently top of the list: http://www.amateurphotographer.co.uk/reviews/compacts/panasonic-lumix-dmc-tz100-review .

I have the. canon G 15 (it has since been replaced by the G 16). It takes pictures in raw and is a great low light camera. I use it whenever I am in a situation where m larger cameras are not welcome, or not needed. I also mount it on my Gorilla Pod and take videos of the curlers during a bonspiel.

Canon SX710. A great pocket camera. I love mine. Sharp photos. Carry it with me all the time. It's $279 right now, on the B&H Camera and Adorama websites.
