I have checked the previous posts but, maybe you will be able to narrow down my search. ( I have a Nikon 7100...but) I need a pocket camera... to be with me all the time

looking for the point & shoot which:
1. fits into my shirt pocket- does not have to be ultra slim
2. has the sharpest pictures !!! w good color !!! and high pixel count / chip size to allow some enlargement
3. no need for water tight but sturdy
4. view finder would be nice but not a must
5. no need for extra long zoom, nor extra wide
6. has a flash, but average
7. no need to extra perform in low light
8. low cost (of course), but not the limitation
9. not need for movie and sound

* I have eliminated Olympus Tough & GoPro <- not good picture quality & no bridge cameras (still too big)

Thank you for your help Miro

Canon SX50, refurbished by Canon, sometimes available from Adorama/B&W/KEH/Cameta etc. for around $140. They're getting scarce, but are worth looking for. Lightweight, but their larger size is well worth toting around. Good luck....

For fixed lens point & shoot, look at Fujifilm X series and Sony RX series cameras also the Ricoh GR series.

Number two is pretty general in thought. As for the rest, why not go to a store like Best Buy and look for yourself.

I mentioned them because they match online prices if you ask.

MiroFoto,,, Excellent Sony HX50 has served me well as a 24/7. Any photo problems, ie. noise can be cleaned with a deNoise... fits pocket... carry mine in belt pack....

20 mpix, 50x, and with a little adaptation can use filters... I also DIY a way to overcome screen in the sun viewing. A 10X close up gives you Macro. HX60 is about $250 Amazon

Yes, I love my Canon SX-50, but too big for my pocket... and yours.

Ricoh GRIII from Ebay.

Pocketable, sharp, good image quality, and lots of useful features.

NONE of the cameras suggested would fit a SHIRT POCKET unless you mean one of those big flannel shirts from L.L. Bean.

Good list, but #2 and #4 will make choosing more difficult. If you had said that picture quality didn't matter, well. :D

When you say something for your shirt pocket, I assume you just meant pocket-sized. Unless my shirt has a Velcro flap, nothing goes in there. The good news is that whatever you get, it will take good pictures. No one is making junk.

These links should help you narrow down your search. The first bunch concerns only cameras that have a viewfinder, something I consider essential.

Take a look at Panasonic Lumix ZS 40, (about $ 250)
or
Panasonic Lumix ZS 60 (about $ 400)

18 MP, EVF, 24mm - 720mm Leitz zoom and RAW

Fitting into your shirt pocket.
