Question for Nikon users.
In my opinion, the glass (lenses) are more important than the camera. A photographer eventually builds a system of lenses which can be mounted to a particular manufacturer camera bodies.
I purchased my first Nikon in 1972, along with six Nikkor prime lenses. That film body is long collecting dust, but I still occasionally use a few of those original lenses.
I have since added Nikkor and Tamron lenses for my digital bodies. Which lens focal lengths are considering for use on the D7200?

I have a D7100.
18-70MM Nikkor AF-S 18-70MM F3.5/4.5 DX ED Zoom lens
AF-D Nikkor 50MM F1.8 DX Prime lens
M100 Tokina 100MM F2.8 Prime Macro lens
70-300MM Nikkor AF-S F/4.5-5.6 G ED VR Telephoto lens
200-500MM Nikkor AF-S F/5.6 G ED VR Telephoto lens
My lens that is used the most is the Nikon AF-S 18-70MM lens because it is so versatile.
The Tokina 100MM Prime is the sharpest.
It's a tossup between the 50MM Prime and the newer 70-300MM Zoom for second place.
I just bought the 200-500MM last week so cannot give an informed report yet.
With the 7100, you can go cheap with AF-D older prime lenses that don't break the bank.
However, I find the newer lenses, in general, have better glass.
I have read at more than one site that the 18-70MM has less distortion even at full zoom than the longer wide angle zooms.
This guy says it like it is..
http://www.kenrockwell.com/tech/reviews.htmYou might think that I took the attached shots with one of my primes, but no, it was the 70-300MM at full zoom.
You can't get much sharper than that unless you buy a Zeiss lens.

I have the opertunity to purchase a really clean used D7200 body for a really good price. It's just the body, no lenses. I own no lenses that will fit a Nikon body. I'm looking for advice on lenses. I don't have a lot of available funds in my "for photography" account at the moment, so I can't just go out and buy what I think would be the right lenses. I'm soliciting suggestions on what lenses to get on a budget that will compliment the camera and not anger the wife anymore than she is. Her exact words when I told her about the D7200, "what do you need another camera for, didn't you just get that new one a couple weeks ago?"
If it wasn't for the distinct red stripe I could have gotten away with not telling her. When she borrows one I always ask her, which one and her response is, the black one you showed me how to use.

Don't know how much your budget can support, but the 17-55 f/2.8 is a great piece of glass.
Find yourself a used 28/30 - 300 mm lens. I saw a Sigma on E-bay for $129, Tamron for $225.

PS:
IMO, try to stay away from kit lenses.
More plastic, not as good glass.

For general everyday shooting I would recommend the Nikon 18-140. They are not cheap but not terribly expensive. I have one on my D5100 backup camera and find it general a good overall lens.
I would second this suggestion. I have a number of lenses but use this one a lot because it covers a good range and I get excellent results from it. I bought mine used from a reputable camera store. You can get a refurbished lens to save a little or used if you are careful.

The 16-85 is an excellent ASPC lens. It's a little more than some of the others. The super-zooms are another option-- I'm just not a fan. I'm sure you can find a lot of the 18-55 as they were sold as a "kit lens" along with the 55-200.

I suggest a used or refurbished Nikon 18-55 VR, Nikon 18-105 VR, or Nikon 18-140 VR. Try keh.com, B&H, and Adorama for a new, used, or refurbished one.
If you have a choice between the 18-105 & the 18-140 get the 18-140. I had an 18-105 and it took decent pictures, not good pictures. I borrowed an 18-140 and did a comparison and I preferred the 18-140. I sold the 105 & bought the 140.
The Tamron 18-280 is a great walk around lens. Great photos.
I see you already use Canon along with some Sigma and Tamron lenses. What will the D7200 do for you that the Canon won't? I'm not saying don't get it but personally, I wouldn't get it unless I could justify the reasons for using one vs what I already own.

You are going to get a lot of suggestions. But the one that counts is mine. On ebay they have a Nikon 18-200mm f/3.5-5.6G AF-S ED VR II Nikkor Lens *BRAND NEW* listed for464.00 with free shipping. This lens becomes a 24-300 on your camera. It is a great, sharp, starter lens. This is the lens I still go on vacation with. My opinion only, and no one knows Nikon better than a guy who's first one was the original Nikon FTN in 1969. God bless and keep on shooting until the end.
Whatever lens you choose...Buy FX lenses, that way should you ever decide (as many do)to go to a full frame body...you won't need to dump the DX lenses and repurchase.
The 28-105mm AF D is a great all purpose lens and available used at less then $150. It will work fine as your camera has an internal focus motor. There are a lot of AF and AF D lenses that can fit your needs at great prices.
