I've been using Windows 10 since the first consumer beta was released in October 2014, so technically Windows 10 has been out for a year and a half...

If you go to the NIK site it states the it runs on Windows Vista, 7, 8 but does not mention 10. I assume that this indicative of the lack of attention that Google has afforded the NIK software since it was acquired. It works fine on Windows 10 and since its been out almost a year I would think they would have updated their site to show that compatibility. NIK was once the premier PS and Lightroom plugin suite but I think it's slipping into obscurity due to a lack of attention.

Will the Nik Collection work on Windows 10

It works on my W10 pro, it works with my CS2 and PS-EL, I am having fun with it! I didn't try it with LR yet.

Haven't had a problem yet. In fact I haven't found anything that doesn't run under Win 10 (Except for apps designed for toy computers like Macs.)

Yes it will. Have windows 10 and PSE 14. I down loaded the NIK collection last Saturday. No problems of any kind and took less than 10 minutes.

When I upgraded from 8.1 to 10, the Nik collection tagged right along and transferred seamlessly

As I understand it the NIK Collection is not a stand alone editor. Does anyone know what FREE program can be down loaded to run NIK?

Thanks,

Don

Nik will run as stand alone: (I know it works on a PC, Mac, don't know, used one for a grand total of 15 minutes in the 90s.

But you can lose files

Look here (scroll down) for tips etc
http://edknepleyphoto.com/2013/06/15/using-the-nik-collection-in-a-stand-alone-mode/

On my Win 10 machine: Uning Siver Efex as the example.
click these in this order:

This PC

Local Disk C

Program Files

Google

NIK collection

Silver Efex

Silver Efex Pro 2 64bit (click, two files appear)

double click on line that says Application

Siver Efex opens
Upper left you have "file" you get three choices Open Image, Save image as, Quit

As stated, you click the wrong thing you can lose your image, so make a copy and work with that.
