Downloaded the old Windows calculator and now it looks just like it used to look. Works the same with the calc button on the keyboard too.

I had a TI back in the late 70's that cost $500. I think it was an SR 50. Eventually, I was given a TI 81 by my NJ school district that I taught in, Chatham Township. Every student received (on loan) one for the year. We used them in courses of Alg. II, Pre Calculus and Calculus.

Good memories!!

I have two Dell desktops running Win10. The one I updated to Win10 a couple of days ago - clean install - pops up this calculator (see below) when I press the Calculator button on the keyboard. The other computer - updated from Win8.1 - shows the calc icon in the Taskbar, and I have to click on it to use the calculator. It looks completely different. (Can't show it no, since Windows is doing a lengthy update.)

What do you Win10 users have for a calculator?

I prefer a calculator based on Reverse Polish Notation. I have been using my HP41CX for over 25 years. There are RPN calculator apps in the Windows store. For example: https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/store/apps/rpn-scientific/9wzdncrdcfx1

I never could get used to RPN. The TI59 had a module you could easily insert when RPN was needed.

Well this is interesting. After the computer did the very lengthy Win 10 update, the calculator now appears on the screen when I press the Calculator button, although it looks different from the one on my other computer.

I like the convenience of just hitting the button on the keyboard and getting the calculator, rather than having to get it from the Taskbar or use a calc on my desk.

I have a Dell Inspiron. it has what looks like a calculator icon on the Control key. If I hit it alone,WIN10 nothing happens. Not sure what other key it might be on this laptop.

As an aside, the WIN10 calculator has several types of calculators (including a scientific) plus other conversion calculators. Use the button in the upper left corner of the screen to access the other types of calculators and conversion calculators.

As EnglishBrenda said, you can find it in your Apps and Pin It to your Taskbar.
Since reading your post and seeing other comments I decided to take a look at my calculator which I Pinned to my Taskbar.

As you found out, this calculator has a lot of different functions I wasn't aware of. I knew the 3 lines on the upper left would change the calc as needed but there was so much more.

I switched to a Logitech Wireless KB & Mouse & my KB has a calculator icon. What your keyboard may be pulling up might be from your previous OS (7 or 8.)
Mine comes up with the Win 10 version.

Jerry, If you use all those computers, how on earth do you have time to send 62,971 messages on UHH?

I remember those early calculators. I received an ad offering me one for $400, and I would get a free briefcase. Now you can get them at the Dollar Store.

All that can now be done with a cell phone.

And it is all on one chip.
I guess it means that the PDP-11 is out of date!

If you have an operating PDP-11, I would be very impressed. I remember booting one up in college using switches on front panel to enter instructions.

Would not be my first choice as a calculator.

Not for a long time now but I do still have the six 8" floppies that was the master backup for the system, just for the sake of nostalgia.
