That Youtube is absolute Bunk.
The D7200 is a really fine Camera with it's newer Sony Sensor.
It has great detail in all ranges.
Total Bunk.....

The guy says that this was not a SUBJECTIVE look but a purely HARDCORE FACT about the D7200 yet he did no repeatable or verifiable test. Until someone comes up with actual side by side test results treat this for what it is.....(PptttThhh). Or better still, compare yours with your D7000 and see what YOU, who will actually be using it, comes up with......

I don't own a D7200 but the DXO data disputes these claims.
Check out the comparison and look at the measurements data.
Also check SenScore which shows similar results.
I'll put my money on the data although I will never buy a D7200 since I prefer FF.
Thank You all...I have and love the D7000, D750 and now the D7200. I was a bit suspicious seeing that video but not any longer.
Thanks again,
Doug

The D7200 has been out for quite a while, and it has gotten good reviews and good reports from owners. I wouldn't worry about this guy and his buddy.

I answered that inquiry, dummy. Go back and read my post.
Usually the DUMMY starts with the personal insults.
Let me say first that their is very good information on the net.
In fact if you sort it out and follow the good photo and video advisors it is my best source of how to shoot and create.
I feel I know when someone is just their for ego or their are always planting negatives. "Why you shouldn't buy this camera."
Even though Ken Rockwell can be controversial I believe he is sincere and very helpful.
Now I owned the D7000 and can say right now I loved the
camera and still miss it. I went FF with the D300 and liked it but still remember shooting with the D7000. I have changed to the Sony A7 series mainly because I shoot a lot of video now. But the Nikons I see are still wonderful cameras and you can't go wrong. Go with you instinct online most reviewers or helpers are great. The camera companies are pathetic in their manuals and shooting advice.
Good luck enjoy you camera.

You are concerned because of something you saw on the internet, yet turn to the same internet for reassurance. There is some irony there. Relax, you have a great camera. Enjoy your wise decision. :)

I swear I just typed a similar response and decided to delete it.

That's ok. He seems to thrive on it anyway.

Never owned the D7000, but as you can see from my tag line below I own both the D7200 and D5100. I may be wrong but I have been told the D7000 and D5100 share the same sensor and processor so images should compare favourably between the two cameras, if my info is correct. What I can say is that images out of my D7200 compared to the same images out of my D5100 using the same lens, same subject, in the same lighting conditions are better out of my D7200 IMO. I should point out that I shoot predominately wildlife ranging from hummingbirds to elephants in size under any lighting condition Mother Nature throws at the situation. The "Angry Photographer's" claim may be valid but I have not been able to see the problem in my photos. Any and all problems I do have in my photos and there are plenty, are and will continue to be caused by me, not the camera. As you have both the D7000 and D7200, I suggest you run your own tests under identical conditions doing the type of photography you like to do and see for yourself which camera is better for your style of photography. I admit I almost bought the D7100 which incidentally the Angry Photographer anointed not too long ago as the best enthusiast DSLR available for value and image quality. But in the final moment of decision for my needs the bigger buffer sold me on the D7200. My next camera purchase will involve trading in my D5100 in favor of a D5300 which will serve as my backup camera when on safari.
All the best and good luck with your decision. Garth
Never owned the D7000, but as you can see from my ... (
show quote)
I traded my D5100 for a D7000 some time back. They took exactly the same images. Dumped the D7000 after six months because I didn't like it's features including the button and unreadble green screen control system, no articulated screen, and nearly twice the weight.
My D5300 is coming on safari with me the end of this month as backup, for near shots so I don't have to change lenses in the field (dust concern), and in case I find I need more reach than the D800. I find the D5300 significantly improved over the D5100. It adds a button for release mode and I like the improved info screen control system. From data reviews I believe it takes the same images as a D7100.
I only take the D5300 on most vacation trips by air. Leave the D800 and its heavier kit home. African safari is my exception.
From revews I believe the D5500 images compare to the D7200. Although I might purchase one when refurbs are available probaby not. The D5300 has internal GPS which the D5500 does not. I'd have to see what the touch screen does for me. I am sure I'd prefer it over a D7200.

Contrary to my experience. But this conclusion is based on observation not any empirical data.
Do you know the meaning of "empirical data"? (obviously not)
Here it is: source of knowledge acquired by means of the senses, particularly by observation and experimentation.
