It requires a host. I downloaded it to a common plugin file. Then I opened PSP X8 64bit , then set the location in Paint Shop Pro.
It works beautifully!

Can you give us a step by step of all the actions to get this installed. I'm not computer savvy...
Right now, all of the plugins are in a google file and on the desktop. I don't have a clue on how to do this.
Thanks!
Pat
In lightroom go to "Photo", "Edit In" and you should see it in the dropdown box. If not go back to the site and look for the instructions as to how to get it into lightroom
I downloaded the all free Nik collection and it is as a plug-in in my Photoshop version, which is CS5.
I cannot tell you if it will do the same with other editing softwares but I am guessing that it will.

NIK is a plugin for Lightroom and Photoshop.

I don't see how it works in LR. I don't see any plugins there after installing it. I take that back, I do see Google HDR.

Interesting. Did it ask for a host when you installed? After logging into Google, I read some user comments. According to those, Google HDR is the only application in the Nik package that will work without a host.
I restarted my computer after download and install and everything appeared in filters in PS CC. I have an Apple laptop.

It is always hard to do this online, but here goes. First find program files in your hard drive. Then right click Google Nik on desktop and click copy.
go to windows of what ever hard drive it is on and find program files. When there press paste and it should transfer a copy to the program file.
You could leave it on the desktop but it may be in the way there.
Now open 64 bit PSP X8 go to edit pane and find colum file. Go down to preferences>file locations> in that pane find Add and you will see your windows files come up. Find the same program file you looked at earlier and scroll down to the file Google. click, folder Nik, also click OK and See all sub folders, then OK. go to windows find restart and restart your computer, open PSP and open any image, then hit EFFECTS
find Google click and pic the program in Nik you want to use and knock yourself out. You just got a heck of a good bargain!

In lightroom you need to go to photo edit in for most of the plugins. For the HDR go to export with preset. In photoshop it under filter.
I just downloaded the software. The message said it was being installed in PS CS6, LR5, Br and aperture. It is installed in PS under filters with the rest of my plug ins, and seems to work fine, after a very brief test. However it is not installed in LR, under "edit in", where all of my other plug ins are located. I have two "default" programs under "edit in": PS and Topaz Impression. Must I remove one? I did not check out Aperture, as I no longer use it, or Br, which I don't use at all. Can anyone help? Thanks.

Pat just click on this link. It is very simple. I'm bad with a computer also but this was very easy. You can also get it at Ron Martinsen's Photography Blog. I just did it and it came up in my PSE in the filter section...Rich

How to:
http://www.dpreview.com/forums/post/51192906(interesting that Nik site doesn't include PSP as compatible host)
