I have only been using aftermarket batteries and have no problems and able to get higher mAh batteries for less.
I have 4 DSLR's and all work fine and haven't had to replace one of the 'non' brand name batteries yet.

I no longer buy OEM batteries for Canon 7d 5d mkll in my opinion thay are underpowered and don't last as long as Wasibi batteries, Wasibi's have a higher mA rating and last longer in Canon battery grip I have now two extra batteries that I take along with me on longer shoots plus they came with the car charger's as well total cost $30.00 ea. And I have been using sense 2012. GREAT BATTERIES I GIVE THEM A 5 STAR RATING.

My Canon EOS1100D uses a LP-E10 battery. I have been looking for a spare online and have noticed prices from $75 to $8. I have purchased cheap after market batteries for my cell phones that were rated better than the OEM. Anyone know of a good place to buy a replacement LP-E10 battery?

Some three years ago I bought an after market battery for my Canon SX-40 as a spare. The cost was about half the cost of similar Canon battery. I've used them interchangeably ever since, with no noticeable change in battery life.
