Good to know. My 200-500 got to them in LA on Friday from Boise. The recall is for a firmware update which I suspect goes pretty quick compared to replacing a shutter on a camera. One would hope they can do it via the contacts without disassembly.
I need it back for an upcoming trip to Africa in about seven weeks.

Have you received email from the shop? I have not. I sent my camera 5 days ago.

One was involved in the recall, and that's with Nikon. I still have the other one for shooting.

I bugged them today on my lens: a week and a day from shipping. It got to them last Friday. The news is good: it is fixed and will go out today. I have the UPS tracking number for it.
The sheet they had me print to include with it claimed they would send an email when they took it into their system. No email till after I called. Don't believe everything you read.
I did get a letter they received it, there would be no charge.
My Nikon 200-500 returned from their LA facility today. 13 days round trip from Boise, ID. They had it 4 working days for the firmware update.
I also got a letter from them today telling me they received it. The might need to sharpen up their workflow for customer communication. :D
