Just wondering if anyone is familiar with this lens? Picked it up in a garage sale for $1.00 but don't have a clue what camera it will work with, how old it is or what it's really worth. I would appreciate any info if someone is familiar with it. It is all metal and the instructions are in five languages and came with a leather case. Maybe it's just a conversation piece for the shelf.
Its an old Sigma 80-200mm zoom for Olympus (I think)manual cameras.
Ok MTShooter...I'm confused.
When I replied your post didn't say what it says now....lol..
I just downloaded your last photo and noticed the notch in the third bayonet. That would likely indicate this lens is for a Minolta or Yashica body.

What does "1:3:7 macro" mean? MFD is 1-meter = 3.3-feet. Hardly macro!

I had Nikon one the brain and typed the wrong thing then changed it when I saw my mistake. Than I downloaded the third pic and the mount is clear in that one.
Thanks guys, I guess it will become a conversation piece as I don't have any of the cameras you suggested. Any idea how old it may be? I thought Sigma used ABS casings and this one seems to be all metal & fairly heavy for its size,
I would say the early to mid eighties from the looks of it. No date on the instruction sheet anywhere?
Not that I can find in English.

I looked at the downloaded picture of the mount and enlarged it. I could not get great clarity, but it seems that if this for minolta it is not AF but could be a MC or MD lens for minolta. Dpullman might have a better answer for you. Does this lens slide or turn? If it slides it looks similar to a Quantaray lens that have; Quantaray is a Sigma brand also, although the quality might be suspect when compared with newer Sigma lens.

its clearly a manual focus film camera lens, for what mount i do not know. perhaps emailing a photo of the mount to sigma might help
Here are pics of the MF Minolta and Yashica mounts. Both show the angled notch in one of the three bayonet flanges.

From MTShooter's pictures that bayonet looks like it is Minolta. Could it be an MC lens? I looked at my lens and there is nothing in this configuration, although all my Minolta lenses are AF.

Minoltas old MF mounts were totally different from their later AF mounts, same difference as Canon did, making all the earlier lenses obsolete.
