First of all - I am not trying to indirectly brag. I am asking you for a favor to answer 2 questions - just technical !!
1. Is it sharp enough to your standard? look at the brown feathers . I do not see the structure. Is it a way to improve it ?
2. Is it dark or OK? It looks fine on my computer , but my friend said it is too dark and fixed it (now it is bleached - to me)
Thank you Miro

Sharpness is excellent to me. I think the first one is too dark and the second to light. I would go in between the two. Nice shot!!
Very nice shot. I think the detail is fine, the head of the eagle has plenty of detail including, a bloodshot eye. (My eye is not really drawn to the brown feathering, so I don't think that is as important as the bird's actual head, which is super sharp. Just my opinion.) Yes, the first one is a bit on the dark side, however, the second one is a bit over-brightened. Can you take your correction down by about half?
your friend is more correct than you are.....but for me he's over corrected the white feathers a bit too much.
Your version looks muddy. You did a great job to get that bird to hold still for you. Well done!
Garygrafic - What do you say ? Muddy = dark or not sharp?
Thaks
And Thank to al of you for not sleeping and answering my questions.

It seems bleached because your friend in adjusting it blew out some highlights. Instead of doing a targeted adjustment they adjusted the entire image which softened the darker areas too much.
Yes it is sharp enough, actually that 16-300mm lens is not to bad at all.
I think it is sharp and the first too dark. In the second, the eagle looks good as others have said and the over bright areas could be fixed by turning down the highlights in Lightroom or a similar program.
I think the first one is too dark, the second a little light. I think the sharpness is great. What lens were you using?
Your friend may be a food photographer...they do everything super high key these days.

If you have the skill to do so, I would have selected the eagle and selectively lightened it without changing the background. You could do it with a Curves adjustment layer and raise the middle of the curve so the highlights wouldn't get blown out.
Robert R - I have a Nikon 7100 and Tamron 16-300
John Swanda - thank you for the direction . In fact, you have helped me to understand something. I have been avoiding to play with PP . I guess my Elements are too weak for it.
Thanks Miro

As above 1-a touch dark 2- overcooked- Notice the washed out area on top of the beak. Feather detail on the head is damn near perfect. A classic metering problem- bright white next to black. Why not crop out most of the very dark portion, and only slightly brighten the head?

1) Absolutely, no need to 'improve the feathers' this is a close-up.
2) Yes, it is under exposed, no, the edit is wrong.
