In Elements, do your edits, click File - "save as" and navigate to your desktop. Save the edited photo there. That's the quickest and easiest place to save a photo for upload to a website.

When you start a topic on UHH, below where you type your comments is the area that says "choose file" (in Chrome anyway, might be different for Internet Explorer).

Whatever the button says regarding upload, when you click that it goes to your computer. Then just navigate to the desktop and get your photo/s.

I usually have a folder on my desktop that I name "Post." That way I keep the edited and re-sized photos contained in one easy-to-access place.

I agree.. but it seems to be par for the course these days... Just like Microsoft who keep invading my pc with exhortations to upload W10...If they have the abilty to remotely do this sort of thing.. what else is going on undetected...

err... They are not onto their user computer but the on-line trash can... Quite different!

Beside, if you post your captures in a service and delete the original, you are squirrel food.

I enjoyed Picasa as it's easy to use, sure it's a bit hash on editing compared to others but for quick jobs its fine and user friendly. Does it mean it will be eventually close?
Does Google want to rope people in to Google Photos? I certainly don't want to upload my folders to them.
All I can say (excuse my French) is Bastards.

Google Photos should already be active for you automatically with all your albums as they were in Picasaweb.
Here's the official take from Google ....

Sorry if I am being redundant.

I use Picasa for simple processing and photo organization. I also logged onto the new Google photo program and am appalled at the total lack of everything, Google should be ashamed for putting something of this nature out there. The post processing aspect is laughable, no crop, no nothing...one button that says, let us try, yah right. There are no folders and organization is terrible. Fortunately I use the Nikon processing program NX2, that is also not very good. Will check out Faststone Image Viewer and Smart Photo Editor, certainly need a new program for simple processing and folder storage. Very disappointed in Google.

Google Photos is an excellent organiser and it also has a basic but very good photo editor.
You can also share your photos,Zoom in, Delete, and view the image information.
In the Edit tab you have 6 options:
Auto adjust.
Adjust exposure.
Adjust colour.
POP (overall enhancement)
Apply Vignette.
Crop.
Rotate and level (the horizon)
What more do you need for FREE.
I will attach a photo edited in Google Photos with a before and after processing.

Yep it is a disappointment for many. If you are running Windows give Photo Gallery a try, it may solve your problem (it may also be pre-installed on your machine). If not get it here: http://windows.microsoft.com/en-gb/windows/photo-gallery
Plenty of tutorials online. When you get into 'Edit' look for 'Fine Tune' for more excellent tools.

Here's the lesson on free "stuff". Its not free, there is a cost somewhere, either down the road in causing you to purchase their products and/or an intrusion into your privacy; the privacy invasion allows them to build user data bases for analysis of trends etc.

Lesson #2: Google has extremely long range plans on product/project roll outs. Picassa was/is a step in that evolution of the project roll out. Don't be duped again; at least recognize there is a cost of sorts in their "free stuff"

! .......................... and you're paying Google how much for this? And for their browser and their Apps and .............
If you haven't plunked down any money just say I don't like what they've done and move on.
Perhaps it's time keep back ups and to move to a 'professional' product you have to pay for. Then if they take your money and screw things up you'll have every right to complain.
