Thank you Sylvia. I agree with you ...... the subject matter is just plain marvelous. The problem is that their are hundreds, if not thousands of spectators in the background, so it's a challenge to isolate the main players ....... but definitely worth it.

You nailed it! :D

Nice work on the photos, Bob. And the capturing of the expressions on the faces is first-rate.
Thanks John. While the dancing performance are great, it's the human interactions between the participants that holds some of the most interesting material.

Thank you Photolady. This is a subject I want to come back to, probably on a regular basis.

These are truly artworks, Bob, and IMO among the very best you've done. I love them. Great job.

Thanks Randy. Here's hoping lightning strikes twice. I have another chance to photograph such an event in June. Different state, different tribe, same idea.

Thanks Jerry. Animated dancers are a bit difficult to freeze in mid air. Luck o' the draw, that one.

Luck can be helped a lot with "burst" and a big memory card.
However Murphy assures me that you will get one frame just before the perfect positioning and one after. Then go nuts trying to decide which to use.

I've been shooting in burst mode for the past 7 years. Canon 7D MK II comes in handy these days.

Tell me about it. Over 800 frames in less than an hour doing BIF over at the Riverwalk. I thought my eyeballs were going to fall out culling them in LR.
