neither have problems with hairballs, their diet addresses that.
No we do not bathe the cats, they are combed daily--at their request--belly up at my feet means they need/want brushed.
I know this is a photo blog--that still doesn't mean miss treatment of animals is acceptable.

KG, good haircut, bad haircut, or no haircut, it is clear to me that this cat of yours is absolutely not abused, and in fact is well loved and knows it. I'm not a fan of shaving cats, but there are certainly times when it is not only appropriate but in fact necessary for the cat's well being, although that's going to be a really tough sell to that cat, as evidenced by his expression during the process. You might want to be especially neat for a while if your cat is like my siamese used to be. If you did something that annoyed her, it was poo in the shoe time....and sometimes in BOTH shoes! She was very "into" social statements LOL.
Good luck, my friend! You may very well need it!
Here you do what your vet tells you to do in the interest of your cat and you get chastised by people in a photography forum. You did the right thing, ignore the rest.
I'd hate you too if you did that to me! lol

Our vet told us that we should cut our cat's hair for the summer to make it easier for her to deal with the heat. So we did.
This is what she looked like before:
http://www.uglyhedgehog.com/t-25745-1.htmlWe invited a pet groomer to give her the lion haircut, and my wife was helping her while I was taking pictures.
This is how it progressed.

Were you using your flash or just available light? Very good pictures. Sorry that some folks are getting on your case. Sometimes we just have to do what's best for our pets, whether they like it or not. Afterall your Vet did suggest the clipping.

Can't see why anyone would take this as mistreatment especially after the vet recommended it.
I just LOVED this series and what a gorgeous cat. I think lion cuts are hysterical. In case a cat doesn't have enough attitude, this cut takes care of that!
Shes such a cute little kitty! But just looks so funny! Like a little lion without the rest of her hair!

It's all flash light. I try to cut out ambient as much as I can when shooting indoors.

Well you did a great job with it. Some people over do flash and wash everything out.
