So our cat got a haircut...
Yeah, was just thinking now that is one pissed off cat.
Yep, I'm thinking the revenge isn't going to be pretty! I had a siamese for almost 20 years, and she trained me early and well.
This is the most precious set of pictures!! I loved the one sitting by the food bowl looking so dejected. And your baby looks adorable with that haircut.
We had a Maine Coon mix. She lived to be 22 years old. She never had a haircut. If it got too hot she'd stretch out in front of the fan or AC vent.
In winter she found a warm lap or the electric blanket.

I agree, that's a great photo.
That cat ain't no dummy, got it figured out
My sister had a cat when we were kids, his favorite motto's were
Never sleep alone when you can sleep on someone's face.
Make your mark in the world -- or at least spray in each corner.
I gave my cat a bath last week, took me 3 days to finally get all of the hair out of my mouth.

Who stood on the toilet seat while you were flushing it?

If you want to see animal cruelty in real form go to ASPA sites, sign petitions, check out the dog kennels; dog fighting on utube. Write a letter to Vick. Take a walk around your neighborhood and check on the chained dogs without shelter. That beautiful cat has it made.
I am owned by a cat. I never bathe him, he takes care of himself. As for a haircut, my little guy does not have very long hair, and we are lucky he has never had a hair ball problem. I know that from cats I have had in the past what a problem that can be for the cat and his humans.
Someone asked that dogs get haircuts all the time, why not cats? The simple answer is that dogs have owners, while cats have staff! They are very different animals.
Abuse to the cat by cutting it's hair? I'm not sure, but I think your poor kitty was happier before the haircut. I'm not judging you. I'll leave that to your cat.
Dria, your cat and that photo are priceless!
Great pictures. I just wanted to put my two cents about the cat shaving. My parents have a longhaired cat that actually has hair that hangs down like a dog on the side. They are both handicapped and cannot brush their cat like it should be brushed so they had to have theirs shaved. It made their life and the cats life easier. It was either that or get rid of their kitty.
We have three long-haired Birman cats. They are all good groomers but one of our cats had a hairball that wouldn't go down and couldn't come up. By the time she started wheezing, which allowed us to see how bad the situation was, she was in pretty bad shape. Within a few hours she was sitting in the corner not eating, drinking, or interacting. We had to take her to a 24 hour vet. A traumatic day later, and over $1600 poorer, we brought our kitty home. We had to leave her in a cage at the emergency vet, with dogs barking in cages all around her. She was sick and terrified. We were recommended by the emergency vet and our vet to shave. Sometimes it is necessary.

You ever try to give your cat a suppository for hairballs, better poor kitty than poor you.
We have to do that to one of our cats too. He gets the lion cut once in the summer and by fall it's all grown back. But he's and indoor cat so we don't have to worry about the sun hurting him, and it helps with less fur balls :)
