I've been using Transcend forever. NEVER had an issue and the best deal going Lifetime warranty.
Get them on Amazon.
Same here
Yes, would totally agree; Sandisk Extreme or Extreme Pro - If you don't mind spending that bit extra. Sandisk has an excellent reputation as regards reliability. Ans yes, extra batteries; they are affected by the cold. Also as another hogger mentioned: try to keep cards & batteries on your person so that they are warm.
Enjoy your trip!!!

I would bring many cards and batteries. I use 32MB cards and buy the fastest speed.I would suggest: SanDisk 32GB Extreme UHS-I U3 SDHC Memory Card (Class 10)

Transcend are good. Delkin is good.
Take care of them. After you download your images from the cards, reformat them in camera.
First class 10 in the minimum. Some say have many smaller size cards like 16 gb. You will need many of them and that becomes a sorting mess. First check what your manufacturer recommends and your camera can support.
in my D810 I use the SCAN disk extreme pro SDXC at 64 GB with a transfer rate of 280 mb /sec this increases your buffer performance.
I've never gotten a bad Sandisk SD card.
I would go for their Ultra series, class 10 or better with transfer speeds of 60 Mb per second +. I've bought four of their 32 Gb micro SD's from Amazon for video recently. Price was about $12 and all were flawless.
I would not get the maximum size your camera can handle but the next size down as the cold will put a strain on the whole system but most especially on the battery.
Have a great trip and send back lots of pics.

I use cameramemoryspeed.com to select memory cards. They test cards in cameras. They rate the save speed for each card. I have a d800 and 64gb cf and sd cards. I also have 16 and 32. At RAW resolutions I get 900 shots per 64 gb. If you took 16 gb cards you would need quite a few. I would take many 64s on a trip like that.get the fastest cards you can afford. Sorry for choppy language using phone.

I also vote for Sandisk, but also use Lexar. Those two make many of the proprietary marked brands, like "Sony"
Sorry this is off subject, but I have a D200 that I would like converted to B&W IR. Can you tell me where you had yours converted? Thanks.
For cards, I opt for Lexar, Samsung, SanDisk or Toshiba as these are thr only card makers that make their own chips.
Sandisk extreme pro. Nuff said.
Thanks again for your help. I had my D200 converted at life pixel and they did a wonderful job. Quite a learning curve with post processing.
Had my D200 converted at life pixel they. Did a great job and it is fun. But the post processing has a Lea ring curve that I haven't totally mastered but that is life

I've had a lot of luck with Sandisk Extreme Pro too. It seems that my Canons tend to read those cards faster. Just my opinion.
