I got tired of taking my reading glasses off and on so, I ended up getting progressives. I can leave them on and I have adjusted the camera diopter to the area on the lens I naturally go to.

fotoframes (or photoframes, whichever)...
used them for 5 or 6 yrs...
should do the trick...
oh, they're just frames...
have to get yer own lenses...

Thanks for that. Next pair of glasses, I think I'm going to go this way. Who does your lenses for you? (I tried to get my eye doctor to put new lenses in existing old frames, and they would only do it for glasses that they currently sold)

Great idea. I need a 2.5 Diopter...Do they sell them by strength?

For those of us who are a little older, we need cheaters to see what we have just shot, or see our camera settings. I got tired of taking my cheaters on and off to do this. Besides photography, I do a lot of fly fishing. I need magnifiers to tie my flies. Finally put my fishing cap on when picture taking and now will not go out in the field without it. These attach to your cap and you simple fold them down when you need to. No more glasses on and off. You can find them at any decent fly shop or most likely on-line. I can't do without them. They come in various strengths.

Just thought I would share.

I get mine made at Wal-Mart, they do a great job, and only charge 10 dollars to use existing frames, regardless of who sold the frames.

I'll have to look into that before I actually pull the trigger.

I have a very complicated prescription due to double vision, and not all places can make them. Been down that road a few times with some of the "2 pair for $X" places. They can't even do them if I offer to pay the extra. Probably because I usually end up having to get them remade 2 or 3 times to get them right.

I hope they can help you. I was surprised myself, by their quality and expertise, along with the fact of after getting three RX's I couldn't see through from fancy eye dos, the Wal-Mart eye doc finally got me specs that actually improved my vision. Anyway you don't have to use their eye docs.

That's good. I've had to see specialists since I was a kid.

concerning the fotoframes from HoodmanUSA: they only supply the frames. I had my script filled by Sams Club...
Did a good job... And one poster was right, some optical shops won't fit lenses for frames from somewhere else.
