Went out to Blue Lake Ranch - overcast light with a light breeze - and all the apple trees blooming with scattered tulips beneath. I tried to photograph the apple trees but it just wasn't happening for me. Still I did get to listen to the hum of all the bees and took pleasure in doing so.
I found these little guys under a tree - no clue what they are called though I suspect some sort of tulip. So, I'm flat on the ground hand holding the D200 and the 90mm Tamron lens, trying to get as close as I can and still maintain a sense of depth through the use of space supporting the flowers. I could tell right off these guys held a certain interior luminosity which not all flowers have and I liked that it was yellows and greens - and a nice overall softness and gentle gradation of the colors.
I originally framed this as a horizontal - just as it appears here - but when I play with it I can see a vertical and I can see a flipped horizontal and I can't see which one is most compelling....So asking for some input.
three frame in-camera multiple exposure - I kept kicking my heels up laying there like I was maybe 11 and my "adult photographer" self had to keep reminding me to "lay still." I had fun.

Kind of a "Dreamy Look"!
Works well with the colors!!

I like it and could picture this hanging on a wall. Very pleasing and easy on the eyes.

Yes,docrob, unusual little flowers. I made a record shot recently to show they do not have tulip foliage,it is narrow, more like daffodils, and they bloom with the latter ,only in cooler weather and not on cloudy days. Mine came in an assortment of various spring-flowering bulbs from Walmart several yrs.ago, all of which were supposed to be white
About 3 wks.ago my email page was redesigned and has some problems such as having sent an email earlier today to someone, received about thumbnail size but showing about 5x7" on my monitor. Willtry to send my pic. here...
repeat, it is for identification, showing foliage, not art. If you find out what they are would appreciate letting me know.

Oh,sorry sometimes things do work better than expected, provided of course you get at least one of them in a reasonable size,ha.
