smart.as I thought it was slow and draggy in the beginning, I didn't care for the new charecters, i predict it will be on DVD and pay per view within a matter of months.....Empire strikes back was way better...

I plan to see it in IMax, but it's a two-hour drive. Fortunately, when you buy tickets online, you see where the seats are. The center seats sell out first, so I'll wait a while.

I thought it was as good as the original but was disappointed that it was not better than the original. We've come a long way in animation in the last thirty years yet there was nothing in the new movie that couldn't have been done in the original. Avatar blew me away with the floating islands, magical plants, etc. I was expecting something on the scale of that and it just wasn't there. I too am anxiously awaiting the new Avatar movies. I had heard that they were originally planned as a trilogy but someone wanted three additional movies so it seems there may finally be four. I also heard that what is taking so long to come out with the sequel is that the remaining films are all being done at the same time so they can keep the same characters.

Love Star Wars. I have all them on DVD or Blue Ray.
Went to see the latest in 3D and to tell you the truth, I was disappointed.
It was just about entirely ACTION and no story line to speak of, just one battle after the other.
Sure left the door open for another sequel #8.

I enjoyed it ok, but it felt like I had missed an episode somewhere... There is an awful lot of referring to stuff we have not seen - like Skywalker leaving when a young student of his went bad...
It felt like *this* was #8, and we had skipped #7.
I went to see it with my grandsons the other day and enjoyed it a lot, but as been already said, it was more about the action and less about the storyline, which, I felt, was a bit weak. It was, IMO, just pure entertainment--lots of fluff.
I, too, was disappointed in the end, but now we know that there will be yet another episode coming. Hopefully it will have more story in it than this one. But in the end, I'm glad I went to see it. It was fun, and the kiddos enjoyed it.

We bought tickets on 12/21 for an early Christmas Day 3D showing. Was hoping to beat some of the crowds with the 1pm showing but it was not the case. We had heavy snow from Christmas Eve til about noon Christmas. Streets were a mess and the theater was still packed. Guess the old saw "give them what they want and the people will come" still applies.
We saw the original Star Wars and haven't seen any of the sequels...wanted to see if all the pre-hype was warranted. Anyhow, I really enjoyed the spectacle of the original movie, this one...meh. Plenty of visual action and NOISE! But who am I...it is breaking all time attendance and dollar records.
Guess I'm too old for space westerns...give me John Wayne.

Not seen it yet, but plan to.....The St Louis Science Center has it showing in their Omani-Max Theater in 70MM Film, so may try that route.

Do not understand what all the hype is about, just a movie, some of it not very professional.

I've been a fan from the beginning. I was disappointed in all the prequels, but I thought this was a return to form and was very satisfied with it as a part of the series. For those planning to see it on DVD or TV, you'll be missing a lot. This one really benefits from IMAX 3D. It was good to see the original three characters as geezers, but especially Harrison Ford. I did like the new characters, and I have a feeling we have more to learn about Rey and how she came to be strong with the Force.
I saw it and enjoyed it. I would recommend see episodes 4-6 before these, but most of it wouldn't be required.
The ending sucked! BUT the ending did provide a excellent pointer into the next movie.

They were vague about her parents - that may have something to do with her being born with it.
I saw it last night in 3D, great action and filming. But, it was basically a remake of the original movies and most popular scenes. I would have liked to see something a little more original. I didn't read the books but it seems that Hollywood is lacking imagination.
