All items are made in America, by Americans.

I find it amusing that many Nikon and Canon cameras are made manufactured in China, yet, some UHH participants are very quick to criticize folks for ordering other photography equipment from China. Seems like a double standard and some what hypocritical to me.

You mean like this piece of Peak Designs hardware (which I own BTW) which is manufactured in China:
http://www.amazon.com/Peak-Design-Capture-Camera-MICRO/dp/B00H7JY1GG

PS: Dig a little further an you'll find that all of Peak Designs products are in fact manufactured in China.

This directly from Peak Designs website:

"All Peak Design products are manufactured in Wuxi, China, a city of about 6.3 million people in the southern Jiangsu province of China along the Yangtze River."

I plan to buy a Spider Hand Strap soon. It's the most expensive on all the sites but take a look at it as it doesn't cover too much of your hand making it hard to get to the controls. It also has a wrist strap for extra safety.

I just got done reading all the reviews for the three or four highest rated ones and don't feel comfortable buying any other than the Spider.

Just a thought.! Good luck

Aloha M.M.

Sometimes one must humble pie. Thanks for the heads-up. Merry Christmas buddy...I just did some digging and you are 100% correct. Their video tends to make you believe that the products are made in the good old USA.

Wasn't my intent to make you eat humble pie, don't take it that way. 70% of consumer goods are produced in China or the far east based on the last statistics I read in a US Government survey. Folks are astonished to find out that most US manufacturers of consumer goods contract with Chinese companies to produce "made in the USA" products. We should all be alarmed by the statistics and the trends that got us to this place. I don't think it is a healthy or sustainable balance.
It is frankly just not possible to buy American anymore. The marketplace made that decision a long time ago. Will it change? I hope so.

Far as I know OP/TECH is the only remaining USA made producer of camera straps (at least 90% of what they make is made in the US). I have OP/TECH straps on most of my cameras.

I'm willing to bet, that except for the labor, every other material in those straps comes from China, from webbing to buckles! It might not, but likely so.
It can say Made in USA, as long as the prerequisite labor is done in the U.S. Hey, better than nothing!!!!
It's a sart! ;-)

No offense taken at all my friend. Maybe it was OP/TECH I was thinking of, that is what I use. Case of old timers I guess or Coors Light fever. Take care.

SS, If you didn't know, the same rule applies in buying Chinese as it does to buying anything on the internet. "Know What Your Buying". It is up to YOU to understand "Chinese", Chinese/English translation. If you've ever worked with Chinese import instructions you would understand. I'll bet you don't even know why the dog is dead! YOU killed him!. I'll explain.

You should NEVER make a transaction without knowing the translation. You bought food from China that was clearly labeled, "Chinese Dog Food" and yet, YOU, missed it! Yes, it was Chinese and yes, it was food but it was Dog! "You fed your dog, dog! You killed the poor guy from the shock of cannibalism!

Don't Do That!

Ordered a hand strap for my camera on Amazon costing $4.99 free shipping. that was 2 months ago (coming from China) haven't received it yet. checked the shipping stat said it would get here Tue. has anyone had that problem?

I'm still waiting for some split ring key rings I ordered through Amazon from a Chinese vendor on January 8, 2015. I messaged the vendor after about six weeks, was told they had been sent and should be here very soon. I finally gave up and reordered from a US vendor and had them in a few days.

I think my dog would know the difference between eating dog or eating cat!!!
But hey, I don't know that they eat all that much dog in China. In fact the Chinese love their dogs. Especially those little Pekingese guys. Maybe they call them Beijanese now!!
Anyway, MY dog, wasn't the Chinese food, he tried to swallow a big toad whole and chocked on it!!!!

When possible, order from the country you live in. Just lookup the same item. It's likely the item is also sold by a vendor in your country, (USA), and that helps alot.

I've ordered a few things from overseas mainly through Ebay. If you look at the ad they generally tell you when it is expected to arrive at your house.

After ordering it, wait till that aproximate date then if need-be, contact the seller.

As entitled earlier, shipments from Chine are pretty reliable.

The sellers on Ebay, if reputable, DO NOT want a bad feedback report. One bad report can boil down to thousands of dollars in sales lost.

Contact the seller first!
